OK so here is the story!
I was wanting to purchase a bike to scoot around on and decided to look for a zx11. Why? Two reasons.......first I figured that I could find an affordable one and secondly aside from the zx14 it is my all time favorite bike. So.... I started looking on Craigs list and found one that I was going to go see. I rode up on the back of a friends bike in hopes of driving my new bike home. When we got there I couldnt believe my eyes! In front of me was the most different looking bike I have ever seen. From the rear it looked like a zx11 but the front fairing was not what I remembered and the gas tank was half as tall as I remembered. I took the bike for a test drive and it seemed very unresponsive and would hardly stay running. It spit and sputtered and had no tail lights and I wondered how I would make it home if I bought it. Well, I am not sure why, probably because of how different it looked, but I bought the bike and made my friend drive it home as I followed behind because of the taillight situation. The guy I bought it from seemed like a real idiot and did not really know beans about a bike he had supposedly put 9000 miles on. He said that the airbox and the dyna 2000 ignition that he had taken off of the bike were available and that he would mail them to me. I was happy then because I figured that the airbox would take care of the response problem and most of the spitting and sputtering.
On the trip home in the dark we stopped for gas and when I came out of the store there was a crowd around my bike! Everyone wanting to know what kind of bike it was. I left the gas station with one of the guys phone number in my pocket because he wanted first dibs in case I decided to sell it. After getting stopped by the police for no tail light, We were let go without a ticket because all he really wanted was to know what kind of bike it was.
We finally made it to my house and I showed the bike to my husband. He got on it and rode down the freeway a little. When he came back he said well we will see what we can do! The next morning I woke up with a pit in my stomach thinking what a bad decision I had made. But for some reason my husband, Paul, wasn't the least bit upset and as soon as he got home from work he started taking the bike apart.

didn't get to chat as much as I liked.
