I just rode the bike for a couple of days and when I checked the clutches, the steels were kind of gummy. What causes that?Oil over heating in between them?

They should not be "gummy". I broke my motor in on castrol gtx and did not have that issue......, unless maybe your were riding the clutch hard, kinda grandmaish?

I was playing around with MTC's soft springs with shims.Around town,I had to rev the shit out of it at each stop light as it felt like no torque down low.I'm waiting on Schnitz for the clutch cover rubber gaskets and have another set up I would like to try.

I probably was sliding it to keep the rpm's up.This would be street riding.Lebannon Valley only has a couple of weekends left and I'm busy then so I don't know how it will work on the track with traction.

You said you wanted to do it on your own. Now you know why everyone comes to me.
You can reuse your stock gaskets, no prob.
Do you have a single stage or a multi........

You are sliding it because of setup....But wait till you try it like that at the track ,it`ll be SWEEET beleive me....It`s just a trade off on the street....Mine is about the same, just have to be a little more gigerly withit unless some is next to you , then let it loose....

I have a couple of things I want to try but for now I'm going to use just the six stock springs for the street. In the spring if the bike is still running then I'll start to play again. To me this was a good lesson,if I'm correct, then the springs were a tad too soft. Now I have something to base off of when I do start up in the spring.Don't worry Nox, after a couple of weeks frustration, I'll say, F me wheres his phone #.Hard headed, I have to try it myself.

Maybe for the track, but stop and go city traffic I don't want to kill the steels and frictions.Side note,at 1426cc's,the bike is starting up with no problem on one battery.

How long is the bike, and how do you have it geared.........
Why would you want to waste that money on the street?

It's geared 17/48 but I do have a 52er.Wheelbase is64". i still ride it on the street to make sure everything runs right and check for leaks.2 hour ride to find out it won't shift right kind of sucks and cost money.Plus I still like to ride and don't have the money to have a dedicated street bike. How do you figure I'm wasting money on the street? For me it is still about having fun no matter street or strip. With my size and weight ,I can realistically only think of bracket racing where hp has no effect but only consistency.

I can answer the 2nd question, because it is so much fun to ride a bike with that kind of power on the street. I ride mine several times a week to work, ride to bike night and then still run consistant 5.80's at the track. If I didn't have my wifes R1 to ride I would ride mine even more to work.

Once you get used to the light pull of the clutch you won't kill the steels on the street. Took me a little while to get used to the light pull when street riding my bike.

Heh, I'm a torque fiend! At 250 without gear, I wanted to know what you light weight jockeys were cackling about on stock 12's For the way I ride on the street,a 600 would probably be overkill but I like the fit of the 12.It's just every now and then....well we all like a little adrenalin rush.
