swingarm ?
On an extended swingarm, at what horsepower would bracing start to be recommended?

what type of extended arm?
factory weld or aftermarket? Look at some of the serious grudge bikes, most don't have bracing. I think its mostly for looks and marketing. my .02

I just happen to be looking at McIntosh web site.To tell you the truth,I think it looks better with the bracing and would give me a place for foot pegs.I don't get to see too many grudge bikes so I forgot about them.

So what symptom would I see where I was leaving so hard, I needed bracing on my swingarm?Kicking out to the side on launch?

sounds like an accident waiting to happen! I use a rivet master link and when I did have the clip type it was safety wired. At some point if I can find a used one,I just want to know if it should have bracing or not.I think I'm going to look for one with a bottle holder at least.I do know it won't be this year tho.Interesting because I don't hear anyone talk about arms and so i figure I would ask.

If your not up around 400 to 500HP and launching with 1.2 60's or better then it's mainly just for looks.

I was twisting a stock arm with bolt ons. 200-240 hp. The bike would leave, hook, front tire off the ground and would pull to the right, to the wall if I wasn in the left lane.
I went with a Mac cromoly arm with uder bracing.
You should have seen the wearing that was occurring between the bolt ons and the stock arm, looked like someone took a grinder to my arm. Right between the two.
If your going to buy an arm might as wll get it underbraced, they look cool if nothing else, do they work, damn straight!

Ask Terry Mcintosh if he recommends bracing for most applications.
Doug Spencer also does stock swingarm welded extentions, ask him what he thinks.
Few people already into 1.3s with boltons.
what 60' times where you you when the bike as twisting , how beefy is the zrex arm compared to a zx12 arm. I like the bracing for the look and the pegs, but if money was an issue the brace would be the first to go.
