I put it back together the way it came apart. everything back in the same place. i dont have a bunch of shims to swap out yet.... i dont think the valve clearance has ever been reset after the factory assembled the motor, so normal wear and lapping has put it at the min spec.
this is good for max power though. less clearance is just like bigger cams... but it happened all on its own. i just need to know if it will fall below the min spec after the initial start up/ break in. and how long it would take for normal wear to bring it below the min spec...i could check it after the break in and after every race, but i would really like to know if a predictable change will happen so i dont have any down time

Don't kid yourself about less lash making more power. Many racing motors use valve lash numbers that are either on the loose side of the factory spec, or looser than the factory spec. Valve cooling is dependent upon ensuring that the valves are closed when they're supposed to be, and closed long enough to dump heat into the seats. Better to err on the loose side than the tight side.

If you're running lapped, used seats and valves, I wouldn't expect much change at all for a long time.

i`d check them after say 40 pass`s then every 200 pass`s after that or less if you put alot of street miles.the last valve adjustment i made around 50 1/4 mile pass`s and 10, 000 miles and i had 8 exhaust tight and 1 intake loose.
