Poll Question:
Cranking pressure.

Well I figured that while I was putting a set of brand new plugs in I would check the outside two cylindars and see what the cold cranking pressure was...
I took out all 4 plugs and held the clutch in, did not open throttle and both cylinders came up at 200psi even... so how does that rate with what you get on yoru bike...

I'll bet yours goes up if you open the throttle.
Probably won't hit 300.

It depends if you do it cold or not as well.......

Cold gives more psi.

I have checked a cold zx12 motor that went 250, stock

Mike,
with my previous 0-300psi gauge, I'd see up to 310-315psi throttle held open, cold cranking 24v

now i have a hi end Ashcroft 0-600psi gauge i get 280-285 at the same 16.2-ish CR

my experimental head is showing 260-270 but Y2K is gonna bump that up after the mile

BTW: i see a 20-30 psi drop with a recently run (warm) motor and about 40+/- drop if i don't open the throttle

prob more than you wanted to know, eh?
