Aftermarket Rod Opinions?
I was wondering if anyone has an opinion/experience with Carillo, Falicon, etc. rods? I have a Suzuki Bandit and a Turbo kit that I'd like to start working on, and was wondering...what is the best rod out there? I've heard that the stock rods can handle 200+ hp...but I would like peace of mind.
H-Beam, Knife, etc...it's all very confusing as to which is the best choice...are there any drawbacks with the aftermarket rods, other than cost?
Any input appreciated. Thanks.

I have heard to stay away from Falicon, but just heard it.....
I know a lot of built motors running Carillo rods, and the rods are not the part that ends up failing.......

I do not think you need them at all...
Rickey used to run over 500HP on stock rods... and I know plenty of bikes running just over 200HP with no issues...

I have Falicon and have had no issues although the bike has been apart for awhile.

H-beam Carillos would probably give you the best peace of mind. I have Falicon
rods in my little 12, no problems yet. Big turbo busa guys like Crowler rods. What
would be the intended application? How much boost would you be running?

On the old 'Zook motor, the crank and rods aren't extra stout. The prior owner of the kit was running up to 24 lbs. of boost to make 255 hp. He had turbo pistons and stronger rods (1100W). I think the turbo will be maxxed out at about 275 hp.
The turbo is an old-type, draw-through design that mr. turbo sells.

Very, very nice...........255HP is a lot from a bike like that. My bro's wife had a 1200 Bandit and I would be real scared to feel what it would be like to have a turbo on it. If its mainly for the street be happy with 170-190HP. I would think the main issues would be keeping it cool and the suspension set up, maybe front brakes as well. Be sure to get it on the dyno before you hit the roads or track. Keep us up to date with the build and pics.
