Cool. So he didn't say anything about the bending beyond 90*? How about premeds for dental work? That has been largely debated over the years although I do still do it.
Just keep looking at that bike & thinking about racing, that should motivate you to the gym!
(I say that as I'm procrastinating my workout for the day! lol)

I was under the impression that he meant 3 mos. and I could go further.Right now, there are times where I am feeling the leg hit a solid wall in there. It just won't move.I 'll have to ask about the anti-biotics before dental work.I think I would have to anyways, until that bone fuses to the metal, than intrusion is still possible. I also forgot to ask whether I could get a medical tag about the replacement.I'm shot!
Lebanon Valley, where I would go, doesn't open until April 12 or 13th.So I have a lot of time.

Update... I just saw the surgeon and he said my prosthetic fell an extra 11.5 centimeters into the bone. Not good and will have to go under the knife again for another piece in a month or so.Hope he doesn't have to tear into my leg like I do my engine He says my pain has been from the bone not healing and the prosthetic moving inside my femur.

Alright I had to convert it to to fully understand. That's darn near a 1/2 inch.
I am so sorry to hear this! That really stinks and I bet that was painful.
Do they have any idea why you're having trouble healing? Are you diabetic?
Sheesh, that just really stinks & I'm really bummed for you! I hope the rework
goes ok.
Not to scare you or bring you down but when I was first in for a consult one of the
docs I saw told me he had one guy that had to have his redone 7 times!!!! The guy
was young & very active and kept having problems. Infection, broke it being active
and on & on. It's kind of a good news/bad news thing and a reality check too.
Good that you can try 7 times, bad that it had to be done 7 times and the reality
check that it doesn't always go perfectly.
I had a lot of muscle issues with my recovery. I expect to have to have mine reworked
in then next 10 years & hope it goes well but I do know that it might not. Maybe that's
why I'm not afraid to race now! Tomorrow is never promised!
I hope this one goes well for you & please keep us up to date on when you go in
& your recovery.

Speaking from having 8 operations and dying twice and using Vancomycin for 6 months with a tube in my chest and having 2 inches cut out of my left leg! All surgeons are not the same! There are some real idiots no matter how smart they sound! go other places away from where you are like the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore and Johns Hopkins Then you will know what to do! DO not be lazy about this it can KILL YOU!

I am not diabetic and he said I have done nothing wrong. At the hospital,my legs were even and ever since, the prosthetic keeps sinking further and further in.Surgeon says he has never seen this happen before.Old uncle Murphy is in my DNA.Weird how I am at peace with what is going on.I can still do things as I unloaded the lift by myself off the truck without a problem.Mowing the lawn is real uncomfortable.I am out of sick time from work so it will be on big momma for a while.I'm trying to get long term disability through work for some coin.Reason for everything I guess.

Going in tomorrow for round two.I can feel the prosthetic moving back and forth in my femur. They will replace everything again.Had my last meal, engine bolted together and going to jump in the pool for the last time this year.I think about Evil Knevil and all his operations, how did he do the physical therapy and then crash again.Well, wish me luck!

Night and day between experiences of each operation. The surgeon said when they opened me up,they could shake the prostetic back and forth inside the femur. On the 2nd day, I was walking down the hall unassisted with a walker feeling no pain, just tenderness. The only way I can describe the new hip is it feels like driving a new car, everything is tight.I walk with a cane and am waiting on the incision to stop leaking.Everything has been just so positive.Right there is the power of prayer shining through.
