That's a great TFA question;
from a founding TFA member, i'd expect nothing less.

if we stick to tradition, we'ff go to the ole fashioned Texas place on Goliad sq on Fri, then Juanita's on Sat.

Yum, pure TFA fare, no tofu available. BYOB both places.

JC: u on the dyno today?

wish I had the time to come down and watch.......

I could wear a pillow under my shirt and be a fake TFA member, just for the dining and beverages........

Good luck to all, hope the parts stay in the cases.......

Just want to let ya'll know that I may be down Saturday to watch, but the bike is broken and there is no way to get it fixed in time.
I am really upset.
I have spent alot of time and money just to run into a wall and not make it.
Maybe next time.

Thank my misfortune for getting 409.
I had that number confirmed, but a broken head will have me sidelined.
My NHRA number is 409T so I jumped on it.
I'll bring the camera and the golf cart, with new batteries this time.

How did you get an NHRA number of 409T?

I thought they all had to be 4 digits...., ,like mine is 4022. And the only way to have two digits, is to be in the top ten in your div, ie, 3rd place in div 4, would be 43 the next year....., and then single digits, are for top ten nationally......., so if a div 4 racer gets 4th nationally in Stock Elim, his number for one year, is 4........

Whats the T for?

My old number was 4988 I believe.
In recent years they have been going to 3 and a letter.
My Buddy's last name starts with an R, and his nymber is 406R.
Mine starts with a T, and I'm 409T, so I am assuming the last initial.

Mike, I don't drink beer, but i'll surely need a bottle of water before it's done....

New rules effective 2008-

1. Engine kill switch. Riders must have a lanyard style kill switch that kills all power in the event of a rider falling off. Tip over switches will NOT be a suitable replacement for a kill switch.
2. Tires will be ZR rated D.O.T. tires, front and rear
3. Front axels must be safety wired. Rear axels must have the nut pinned, clipped, or safety wired,
4. Oil drain plugs will be safety wired and it is encouraged to safety wire the filter but is not required at this time.
5. Drive chains must have the master link safety wired or siliconed (preferably colored silicone)
6. Crankcase breather hoses must be run into a catch tank or in to the air box.
7. Leather racing suits must be worn and zipped at all times while in the hot pits or racing lane. Two piece suits must zip together.
8. Kevlar T panels can only be used for expansion flexibility (arms and legs) and not to replace other large areas of leather.
9. Leather gloves with no holes or other openings other than breathing pinholes.
10. Leather boots or racing boots with no holes and covering the ankles.
11. Helmets must be certified by Snell Memorial Foundation and bearing M2000 or M2005 approval stickers. All helmets must be in sound condition, including shell, liner, and strap. All helmets must be approved by the tech inspector.
12. Shields must be shatterproof in nature and have clear visibility.
13. Visor tear-offs are not allowed.
14. The Texas Mile prohibits hydration devices such as camel backs during racing events.
15. Steering Damper for speeds greater than 140

Get ready, next year you might have to get your nut sack pierced and saftey wire
that to your seat!

I'll be doing my drain plug this weekend, along with one last juice run on the dyno,
then button it all back up.

Good luck to all at the mile.
I was planing to come, but in the last month I've had some electrical issues with the bike. When I get the charging system bugs sorted out, I'll post a new thread in 12Rzone.
Hopefully I'll be ready in Oct. I also need more time to feed my face so I can make minimum weight for TFA.
