Whoa..........Dont gloss over putting the pistons in the cylinder. Its a b**tch, all was going good till now. I guess I need more hands and more patience. I'd be willing to buy the kawasaki special tools to install, if I could find them.

Looks good Scott.....I just got done with my 1272 kit yesterday...man I tell you, that thing rocks....

Thanks Herb, I'm on it...I can get the top 2 rings in but the bottom oil ring is being stubborn. Once the bottom oil rings gets into the chamfered section it is hard to get in. It seems it would be easier if they were flat across the bottom, just my opinion.

hey Dane it was a bitch to get them in even with the old man holding the block. i used some sharp wood sticks to help push the rings in. but like the guys said, its way easier to just split the cases and put them in one at a time. see my rebuild thread

I think I read that about three days after I put the block together, so I wasnt going to go back and take the rods off the crank, after being torqued. But after bending two different oil rings (thin ones) and waiting to order a set of rings, maybe I should have.

well i had it out on my "closed course" (no cops around tonight lol). the lock up is wierd, but did just what i expected it to (you can read/hear all about something and its still hard to get used to when it actually happens). you can really feel it when it locks in. one finger pull on the clutch lever.... waaaay diff than the 6 hd muzzy springs i had in my bike last yr. i didnt try any launches(guessing it would have just spun anyway), just eased out in low rpm and gave it a few 3rd and 4th gear runs. some of my neibours loved it, and im sure others hated it :P
right now i have my PC3R in it with my map, gotta convert the djm file i got from muzzys for the sidewinder to a map file and try it out. but it runs well just the same, 87 octane and 3 degrees advanced....(i was told 4 is ok)
did i mention the muzzy with no baffle is LOUD!

Hey Scott,
trust what NOX is giving you for a setup on your clutch...IT WORKS ...I thought this is never gonna work{at the track},but worked perfectly,one finger pull and let it fly on the launch,yee haaw....Kinda tricky on the street, but useable...Mine works good on the street with a STREET TIRE.....really...And works excellant on the track no bars....
