i dont get why prices would be a big secret... i understand motor specs

Karl, since you log oil pressure, what would a normal(good) drag pass of yours look like, and how much of a pressure drop is considered bad(even if the light doesnt flicker)?

KZ, you are correct-o, apologies to Phantom; he does have the fastest 1287 i know about and he SHOULD BE VERY PROUD!
I have logs of oil pressure at the 1/4 mile with the Coby Pan which show a dramatic drop in pressure when launching. I'll try & post em next week when i get back in the office.
IMO It's not so much about a "drop in oil pressure" but at what rpm that drop occurs. Going down to 10-15psi at 3000rpm is one thing, at 8000+ it is another. This is why the drop that can happen at the big end when you come off the throttle and brake worried me.
10-11000 rpm and see the oil light flicker... YIKES.
I had 2 motors fail right after the finish line. Were they already hurt? Probably. But was it a coincidence that they failed there? This was with stock oil pan and i had previously noticed many times the oil light flickering on decel.
