I just got off the phone with the "dyna tech line", The guy was telling me I should have used the DSMS-2.yet when I called prior to my purchase he told me the 4 would work fine.
Anyone have any ideas?
He also said to use the tach adapter supplied. which , I guess will be ok, however I dont want to bother hooking this all up if its pointless. Anyone running this set up?
Since I have the dsmd-4, I would rather hook it up. But I still dont know if its going to work out?

The dsm 2 would be an easier install however the 4 will work with a coil adapter, if the tach adapter he is talking about hooks up to the 4 coils then it will work, the dsm 2 hooks up to the tach signal.

hey this is how i wired mine you cant use the ecu or tach wire there is no tach wire because of the new CAN system they eliminate the tach wire and a sh*tload of others. this is how i wired mine went to#2 and #3coils (negative)side and then wired into the stock kill switch works fine

yea i have 06 14 if you notice you have a connection or a adapter with circular clips that is the wires you will use to splice into the coil wires(they plug into the minder) cut those clips and splice them into your coils.power (red) goes to the kill switch

CAN is an acronym for Controller Area Network. It is a multidrop serial communications bus widely used in vehicle networks. Instead of having dedicated wires to the dashboard for tach signal, fuel usage, etc... The meter unit (dashboard) is an intelligent device that looks at data broadcast over the CAN bus and decides what data it wants to use.
In the case of the ZX-14 the data that is transmitted from the ECU to the meter unit are:
Engine RPM (which is why there's no tach wire)
Water Temp.
Gear Position
Starter Lockout Switch
Self Diagnosis
Fuel Injected Volume
