Front Wheel Drop

I was reading in AMA rules book about " Front Wheel Drop "
stupid question? What is it? What does it mean? etc....

In Dragracing, the front wheel drop rule means that if you go across the first stripe with the front wheel in the air you must finish with the wheel in the air, or it will give you a bad MPH reading. if your rear tire trips the timing lights and your front tire trips the finish line, it gives you a fake/quicker MPH then actual. that is the reason as a whole for the rule the way I understand it anyway.
