Will you be drilling your wheel spokes?

definatly not! if i want weight off the wheels ill save up for aftermarket ones
the only other thing that might get drilled is the subframe....

I noticed your bike has stock brake lines. Those thngs are exceptionally heavy versus kevlar lines. Might want to look into it.

If you're really concerned about shaving weight.... you can buy a set of RC Comp rims for about $1000 with cush and sprockets, brand new. The Daytona model is the lightest. I saw an 11lbs of weight savings on a set. In terms of power.... it was as significant as installing an exhaust.
Doing the small stuff on a budget (like getting out your drill) is ok... just doesnt pay the dividends like a good exhaust and wheels do. No way your bike is going to feel 5lbs lighter from drilling though. You get what you pay for in weight savings.
Other ideas for saving weight is:

-ditch the stock arm for a TRAC one
-Swap your front end out for something lighter (zx10 or GSXR come to mind)
-ditch the stock gas tank and make a small fuel cell
-ditch the front fairing stay for a lighter fabricated one
-use ti rotor bolts and full floating rotors (since you're looking for oz everywhere)
-ditch the head lights and get a sticker instead.
-ditch the kickstand
-remove all stock bodywork and get a set of 2 piece catalyst

well I went ahead and drilled the rotors. 3/8 up front and 1/2 in the rear. here are the results:
front (each) before: 1400 grams after: 1350 grams
rear before: 1000 grams after: 840 grams
total weight loss: 260 grams = 9.2oz of Rotating Mass
now, going by the rule that 1 pound of rotating mass feels like 7-10 pounds of static mass, (ill use 8 to be on the "safe" side of the equation) 9.2oz X 8 = 73.5oz = 4.6 lbs
so my bike should "feel" about 4.6 pounds lighter. not really that much, but when you are dragracing or going for top speed in LSR every little bit adds up. Im happy with the results, it wasnt hard, just took some time. plus i think the rotors look better now anyway .

thats some great stuff to look into, but i have to keep it street legal too. its not an all out drag bike. i might look into smaller headlights when i get some lighter bodywork down the road. i did loose about 8 pounds when i put on my muzzy exhaust
