Octane requirements are directly tied to boost. I can get by on pump gas at 8psi of boost but at 12 pounds I move on to 110 octane to be safe. I'm at stock compression with 4 degrees of timing pulled.
The higher octane is insurance.
I think you'll have a fun project and it'll be different. Anybody can go fast on the latest and greatest bikes like the 14 but not everybody wants one. In fact I have a 14 and like it but I have enjoyed my turbo ZRX more.
Bottom line is that this old world would be boring if we all had the same stuff.

Thats another factor I haven't considered. How do you determine what compression ratio pistons to go with. I know all these factors suchs comp.ratio, boost, etc. go together but how. I want a streetable beast. Thats why I was going with forced induction and low compression pistons. I needs lots of guidance.

All kind of depends on what you want and how much HP you think you will need.
Low comp pistons will allow for more boost, but you will sacrifice some
lower rpm HP. Where as higher comp pistons will work conversely and
will not allow for as high a boost, but may give a little more lower rpm HP.
In a month or so I have a friend who will be playing with a high comp mild boost
1397 turbo Busa setup. Should be interesting! Hope he makes it to the Texas Mile!
