Kudos to Muzzy: great install instructions!
Like Osti said, "just follow the directions"...
Muzzy hi-pressure air shifter went on with no gotchas, no missing parts, no inscrutable directions.
Not easy to write instructions that even I can follow
Well done, Rob

woppi,
i didn't take any pix, cause there was nothing unusual about the install. A buncha folks have that shifter and all i did was follow directions; pleasantly non-eventful process.
Only thinthing i wish it had is a pressure guage on the bottle, but i guess i can just keep a spare bottle filled up, or get a mother bottle.

Yep. One of the best investments I made for my bike. Never missed even one shift.

when i put one on my 12 i said the same thing. really wanted a pressure gauge. but then i went through a whole season and a month of the next before i ran out of co2! and thats with two points races a month from apr.-sept. and test and tune every fri! unless you have a leak i dont think you will need a refill for a while

Trust me, if you race a lot, you will want a high pressure guage, and a low pressure guage............
Dont run liquid through the system, it will eat the switching valves........., Muzzy fails to tell you that, then when you call , its your fault...........

I loved my Dale Walker set up but it was being problematic after a year of not going to the track.
I thought it was the kill box, but when i removed the system i found that it was just the microswitch... No big deal to fix, i have a spare in my kit and coulda R&R'd it in 10 min.

how do you avoid running liq thru the system??
I like the idea of putting pressure guages on it, but if folks aren't having trouble, maybe i don't need one, eh?

When you race A LOT, you will.........
Run a siphon tube in it, and use it as an anti siphon tube.......
One can be made from brake line and the right fittings, after doing that, and running my bottle upside down, no probs with switching valves...........
Give me a call on my cell if you want, I can talk you through it, made some good progress on the clutch this weekend too.........

I am thinking of a Muzzy kit...
My big question is about using it with nitrous...
By killing the fuel, aren't you risking a severely lean condition if you don't let off the spray between shifts?

I use NOS in my air shift system....My system kills the ign. not the fuel...Your's is a fuel kill????I think Muzzy's has a cure for that in the wiring of the shift kit...

I haven't installed the shifter yet, but the directions clearly state that this kit is designed to be ran with the muzzy NOS kit. I'm also 99.9% sure that the 'digi-kill' that comes with the kit will kill the ignition, not the fuel. One other thing, if you order the muzzy shifter and Nos kit together, you save $240---via schnitz racing. I wanted to go that route, but my personal skill level isn't up to a NOS kit yet. BTW, I think the folks at schnitz racing kick serious ass when it comes to customer service.

Buy it Jeff, I'll do the installation for one sixpack of Samuel Adams Boston Lager.

got everything installed, too late to fire it up and play with it.
I've gotta say, the gentleman(Murray@muzzy) that wrote the directions is awesome. Very detailed and thorough.
