Vincent Hill Grudge Race Ringer!

Vincent Hill caught in a shameless attempt to hustle money from all the Grudge Race participants!!!Heres his plan:Introducing himself as old, riding a slightly retro but nice running ZRX and saying "Gee Guys I hope I can get this thing in the 13's,and later I thought I saw him produce his AARP card. Then comes the friendly drag racing at the very end where he proceeds to run right near his 11.60 dial in..Yeah right Vince..13's....we are all onto you!!!
P.S. Great Great time by all,Vince thanks for being a great sport and takin all the teasin in stride!!

Between Brooklyn and Crotch, I learned how to Drag Race! Even my wife laughed when I told her how I was trying to do a Burn out "IN" the Water Box!! Then doing the Burn out to the left side of the lane and was launching in the Middle! So Frank explained a few things about that also!

By the time is was over. I went from a 2.2+ "60" Foot to a 1.8+ "60" foot! That was 4 tenths right there. Trust me everyone, The next time I pay money to go to school, it will be paid to the New Yorkers who (all Jokes aside) Really helped me to improve EVERYTHING I was doing. I was really glad to see that I was able to Break 13 seconds in a 1/4 mile! Which really is my previous best!

ABout the 11.60 dial in and 11.62 run? Like My dad always said, Even a Broken Clock is right twice a day

PS: I really do have an AARP Card :LMAO

I do not know if this Pic Freek posted will come up, but this is the best example of what the NY Guys taught me!

Didn't the man (Jason) say that when you leave right, the front wheel should be skimming the ground? That was as close as I could get (About 2 inches) I tried to do .5 inch but just did not have the skill level for it! :

I remember Vince's signature used to say, Still A fast old man...He got that right !!!

Vince gave us all the build up, by telling us he's not good...Yeah Right, he knows exactly what he's doing on the DragStrip!!!

YES is was spinning "While the front wheel was off the ground"! That is why I was so timmid at the start line! (Too much for me to handle! )

Tell everyone the truth! Did you guys have to tell me how to use the wated Box? Was I Spinning the tire in the Water? Was I left of center before the start? I can go on and on, but the skill of these guys to give hints and clues is so close to Professional someone needs to pay them!

I cannot wait for my next time to change gearing, lower handle bars / clip on's and some more time on the start line to get the R/T down . All of this has to help me at Maxton!!

Vince, those 2 pics above look like damn near a perfect launch to me!
And as new as vincent may be to the sport, most of my lessons/tips came from vince, so he progressed from student to teacher pretty quick!

Funny about the ZRX, They are a Throw back bike to "Back in the Day" in the early 80's! For me, the Bikes in the Early 80's were the "High Tech" Examples of what the Bikes in the early 70's should have been

When they came out in 1999, I was too "Young" to want one because I NEEDED Faster . Now that I am "Older" and have slowed down (a Little) I bought one to (As you said to ENJOY!

Worse yet is if you ride mine with the Street set up it will scare you because everything is on full soft to that when I push it in a turn, it will start to "WALLOW" like the old Z-1 900's and the KZ1000's I used to Road Race! Aint Nostalgia wonderful??

What was bad about the Grudge race?? It will cost me colse to $1,000 (Even with having most of the parts) to "Fix" My bike! (So that I can quickly convert it to a Drag bike for the next race! I really wanted to see the 10's with that short wheel base. So another rear rim with a Shinko, More gearing, raise the fork tubes so I can use clip on's, take the spare seat and lower it, A Quick Shifter and of course a Little shot of NOS! maybe 20 or 30 shot) I would like to catch a few of the "Slower" Big Bikes next time ! They do not want tme to show up with my "Other" Bike (Me either because that is more like work! ) This bike can make lap after Lap and no problem! We both know that is FUN!!

i dunno if the shinko is gonna help that much, as i dont think u'r spinning as is. the main problem u have as i see it right now is a) need more wheelbase or other methods to allow u to launch harder, and b) more power to get down the track faster once u've launched. the NOS would definitely help with b.

I could not leave as hard as I wanted because the rear was not stuck. Yes the front was up a little but the rear was still spinning and the front was down real soon. The do make extensions "IF" I cannot work it out! But with a short arm the degree of Difficulty is Higher and that is the reason for a lower yet front and lower me on the bike and the smaller diameter tire will give me at least 1 tooth more rear gear. Of course, like I needed more things to get into this summer!!

MM are you saying that "I" Cannot get into the 10's "WITHOUT" a longer wheelbase?

What were your 60' and 330' averages? What gear/rpm were you going through the traps?

I think you will need to find some more mph to get into the 10's...

I was trapping in 4th gear at about 9,500 and I started out at 2.2 "60" and ended up at 1.8 "60".

I was too tall on Gearing and too short on HP and too High on the bike with the Street bars and stock seat and too loose on the rear with the street tire!! I am looking to gain .6 to .8 quicker. I think I can get .1 on the 60 foot. I know to do under 1.7 I MAY Have to have more wheelbase. But for me, I need to see what is possible with the least amount of Mods from the street bike. Freek Being Lighter ran an 11.4 with a 2.0 "60 foot at 125 MPH. That tells me that Power and Aero's are still in play because I have .2 in the 60 foot on him. if he had my 60 time and nothing else he would have been at 11.2 and we all know that would have added up to more than that! I do not know anything about any of this but I sure plan to find out and not take forever to do it!
