strap hooks
Whats your preference,facing up or down when strapping a bike to a trailer?

Does not matter, as long as they are secure in a good D ring to the floor..........
I always use the ratchet type, I dont trust the others.

I lost one on the back wheel when it loosened and bounced off.Ididn't know if one way or the other made a difference.

I say it's best when the hook faces up!!!
I always face them up, because as the straps loosen up do to the crappy roads we have in NYC, the hook will fall in and twist...A couple times I have seen the hooks twisted towards the back of the hole against the bracket...Now if you have the hook facing down and it twists, well then it will come right out of the hole...

buy the one that have a safety latch across the mouth of the hook. Mine popped loose the other day on a speed bump in a parking lot. Luckily, it laid right over on the kickstand. For me, its worth the extra peice of mind....besides, plastics aren't cheap.
