How to shift with dry system

I have dry nitrous system in my zx 12, and do not have electric or airsifter, I change gears by pulling the shiftlever and backing the throttle a bit. Should I stop to push the hornbutton when I am shifting gears?

Thanks, Kimmo

I dont...but thats merely because I doubt that the millisecond that I let off the juice matters due to the fact that there is still nitrous in the line from the solenoid to the nozzle..not to mention the airbox full of it as well.

Then again..I also dont use the clutch to shift.

I wouldn't worry about it either. I would make sure that you have an RPM window switch and full throttle switch both as safety devices wired in with your solenoid so that if either one can deactivate the spray.

So what kind of ET and mph are you gaining using the dry kit and which jets did you install?

Eh..I gained zero ET and 4 mph in the 8th with the dry kit on the 34 jet.

Im not exactly the best launcher as my 60' are almost always in the 1.9 range.

Best ET sofar is 6.80 ~actually on motor~..best mph is 117 in the 8th. Never run the full 1/4 due to lack of safety equipment.

Yo YCIS, how much is your hit?

Every fookin' time I read about somebody on a 12 running juice it makes me start thinking about it!

I just saw the kit at SpencerCycle's that has a 20,30 and 40 hit, I was wondering if anyone's trying 50. Where's that safe limit on the 12, ya know? I may have to start a new thread....

I've read Ryan post 40hp is the 'safe' limit on their kits, after which combustion pressure became too much for the stock rings to handle...hmmm. Then again Kingzx12r runs 2 stages, up to I forget how much...but plenty. On a bone stock motor. For like 10K miles. Kevin knows the details. He doesn't kill it to shift either.

34Jet Al

Stock timing...93 octane pump gas.

Running up two full bars on the faceplate of the PC3 in mid and high range.

Okey i don´t worry it anymore. I don´t have Rpm switch or full throttle switch but i change gears in 11 000 so i don´t hopefully hit the limiter. I have only tried the smallest jet (28), with that i run 9,70 / 150,71 on very slippery track and whitout nitrous on better track i went 9,75 / 142,95, these are with 3 inch arm. Last autumn in good weather i ran on stock arm 9.90 / 146,70. On Saturday i´m going to try the big shot.

I have a non piped 02, 16/44,cat removed, K&N's and its slamed. Ran a 9.95 @ 148 after it wheelied in 1st and got up in 2nd when I hit the NOS on a 34 pill. That is what messed me up & cost me the race by .055 and instead of $300 I only got $100. Next race is in Aug. Maybe I will pipe it and get the bolt-ons for lenght.
