front cam chain guide: mod it for stroker???
I KNOW i think about this shit WAY too much...
But. The front cam chain guide has is "pinned" on both ends and thus is about .080" too short for the 4.6mm stroker.
I've always just forced in the top pin and never really gave it much of a thought.
Any reason not to just "ovalize" the hole in the rubber by .080"; customize it for the stroker???
what o you guys think??

I would think that would work just fine... and since you take your motor apart just to look at all the cool shiney stuff so much , you can keep your eyes on it so it wont fail...
or if I remember correctly the bolt on the bottom has a section that the guide fits on that has no threads... what about just machining down that ledge .020/.030... or something like that?
I dont know just a thought...

Mike,
The rear guide just has a bottom bolt/pin and rides against the CCT; whereas the front has a bolt/pin both top & bottom.
Since i went to the OEM CCT my chains and guides are lasting WAY longer, but the front guide doesn't seem to perfectly straddle the chain and chews up the lip just a tad.
I'm thinking the guide may be cocked a bit due to the extra .080".
Hmmmmmm....
BTW: my motor starts going back together on Fri!!
