good question.

the MCR2 is so light i can't imagine it would be less.

But maybe the metzeler hooks even better????

"Specifically designed for drag racing in DOT classes"

That says it all right there!
If the price don't match the Mickey or last a lot longer
I don't see it being a big seller.

"But maybe the metzeler hooks even better????"
Who is having trouble with the Mickey hook now?

I'll wait too see what you get for that extra $50 over the Mickey other than DOT.
First person to get one throw it on a scale.

should have some in...soon..will take pics and weigh first thing and update you guys...

price will hurt the sale of this tire..they missed that mark by a mile...

tire is a radial...the mcr2 is a not..so the weight WILL be more on the dragtech....it looks heavy... the tires have not reached any shops yet....

It may be the best DOT tire,
How many of us require a DOT tire at the track?

Hopefully it hooks like a Mickey and last like a Shinko,
weight had better be reasonable, otherwise
it back to the drawing board.

True Mickey hooking on a tire that last might be worth another $50 for
those who buy Mickeys now. Think of the Street racers who ride to the spot or track.

The Spencercycle Shinko deal has almost made this tire obsolete before it's intro.

I don't see the niche but, .... IT BETTER HOOK!

I think the price is way out there, we'll have to see how long it lasts. I think it's more likely to compete with the Mickey more than the Shinko. Doesn't like like a very street friendly tire to add to what ninja12 posted. I guess see how it goes. Might be nice to have an extra rear rim and have it as a dedicated track set up. It will not be for everyone.

ninja12, I thing it depends what class you run in if you have to run a dot approved tire; pro street, super street, ect... I think the Mickey is a dot tire.

If it's all that they claim it is, then racers will buy it...

What are the claims?
I don't know what the target for this tire is.
I made remarks based on what's available to racers today and price.

the tire was made for AHDRA...All Harley Drag Racing ...i am not aware of anyone making a claim as to what it will do or will not...we will have a few that are being sent out to the "regular" joe racers with sportbikes..to get feedback...until them the the word is still out on it....i have my reservations about it...but we will need ot see what it works like...before passing judgment...

well I think I am ordering one tomorrow. I will test it on the street and track. I'll try ad video tape it so everyone can see. I don't think it'll be very rider friendly because of it's square shape but I think it will stand a motorcycle up with the quickness. By the way How does the mickey do on the street as opposed to th shinko u soft. I have been wondering this for some time now?

Depends on what you need.
The Mickey hook better new but you can't ride on the street because it wears super fast
then they don't stick. We've had good results with both.
For the money, most choose a fresh mickey.
