Just felt like posting a slip or two.......
It's taken me about 3-4 weeks to work out the winter cobwebs, but last Thursday before my radiator went to lunch, I got these two good runs in.
Specifically, I wanted to prove the 1.529 60', but I don't think I could duplicate the "minor bog" that let me get to full throttle for a few seconds before the dreaded 9k rpm wheelie kicked in.
I'll have to post a video later of one of the "bad" runs.....hehehe. It's pretty nasty.

Very nice. Both of you are consistent, especially in speed.
Do you keep your upper body weight forward, on the tank, then slide back before shifting, or do you start in the seat?

Funny you should ask, as I was thinking about that after reading a post from Entropy in another thread on the same thing.
I realized just this past thursday that part of the reason I was sucking so far this year was my body position at the launch. I was 'sitting forward' and leaned over a little, but not like the end of last year...
I'm only a 32" waist, so, I actually get my 'xyphoid process' right on the back edge of the fuel cap, my helmet is about a hand & thumb width away from the windscreen.
It almost makes your arm position feel funny, but I find that working the clutch/throttle is still no problem.
As soon as I'm in 2nd gr, and out of any wheelie trouble on that shift, I get into the 'tuck', ass-back, head-down and all of that. Sometimes, I'm practically standing on the pegs, trying to look over the screen (it seems) at the top of 1st gear to keep that damn wheelie down. It's fairly comical sometimes.
I could send ya a clip if ya want. As you've probably read, I've got no hosting set-up yet.
I've imagined that it's a lot like watching Kevin launch...

Kevin stays in the seat, and doesn't move much after the launch (at least that I can see Kev...). I try to be as still and as forward as possible, and slide back after the 1-2 shift. I need the step in my seat to be farther forward I think. -I'll take any clips you want to send, my email will take 5mb chunks. sabat@ufl.edu Thanks.

BA,
With a 1.529 60' and you are still fine-tuning yr launch position? Damn, 1.4's are surely in yr future!
What's a 'xyphoid process' ?
How much do you weigh, if that isn't too personal?

It's true, it's true. I'm the leader of Team Skinny Ass.
Entropy, ...YCIS is right,.......I weigh 140lbs before leathers.
Let's not forget that this 1.529 is a TOTAL FLUKE! I'm usually around 1.57 as an average.

X-elent times! BA!!!
Dean must be used to seeing me from...BEHIND LOL
I TOO...not only slide back after second gear shift but...I stand on the pegs and raise my butt above the seat and towards the rear...
IE...Bruce once said it looked like I was trying to sit on the "rear seat"...
I DO however...sometimes forget to do these things when I'm out of practice and/or during eliminations when I'm just trying to be CONSISTENT...
