By the intake cam swap ive heard around 5-10 hp? I doubt much if the head is stock though. I do have a nice ported head and an extra intake cam. Head is fresh with new valves but im not sure i wana part with it yet. Anyway hope that helps, Chris

That is some help..........

Anyone do this, with a stock head, ......gains........?

If it is worth 5 hp, I would think its worth it...........

Maybe a little richer on the pc would be all that is needed? Or maybe none at all.........?

I've been asking this ? for years.... I did see one post that claimed a 4hp gain on a stroker with Muzzy's race cams, and another post by Doug Meyer took the position that the stock cams are hard to beat. In the end, I couldn't justify all the expense and hassel for 4 hp. I wish there was hard data to to the contrary, but I just haven't see any.

Sorry I'm stupid
Check with Lee , you have the stroker motor right?
I'm sure he played with options like what you want to try.

Just a thought!

no, I just have a stock zx12 , never even had the valve cover off in three seasons, if I could find a stock intake cam for cheap, and knew I could gain a 3 to 4 hp, I would do it I think.......

IMO: RUN, don't walk, from doing ANY mods to yr motor unless you just won the lottery!

You are running incredible mph for a stock motor. LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!

If you just have to spend money on something, experiment with heroin, it'll be cheaper

Remember that the intake and exhaust valvesprings are different so I wouldn't do the cam swap without changing springs also.

Thanks guys, I know Karl can break an anvil..........

I am just going to check the valves, get the tranny done, and put it back together........

I did build a 58mph standard brigs motor last week......., if my daughter did not weigh 100 lbs, it would have hauled butt...., it only has minor mods too, i got a 32mm lectron i am going to put on it and see if it pics up........

she had a blast......., way better than the 48 mph stocker she said.......lol

i wish i had crap like this when i was only ten years old.
