What fuel cleaners WORK??
As many of you know, I picked up a '98 carbureted CBR1100xx today; pristine and bone stock with only 6,500 miles. I love the bike, but the carburetion seems "fluffy" at idle and just off idle. The idle sounds somewhat rough (almost like a badly out of synch set of carbs), and while riding around town riding at very small throttle positions, it lurches and feels a little rough. At any other throttle positions (above 5%, I would guess ), the thing runs perfectly.
The previous owner said the bike never sat for more than four months (short winters here in the Southeast). I'm thinking the idle circuit or pilot jet may be slightly gummed up.
My question is, what carb cleaners truly work? I've heard good stuff about Seafoam by some, while others say it did nothing for them. I really don't want to pull the carbs. Have any of you had gummed up carbs and used anything that made the bike run like new again?

BG Products
They are not generally sold to the public but most Automotive and Motorcycle shops should cary them. I recommend BG 44k OR Supercharge. If you cant find them and would like to try some let me know and I can send you some...Chris

Eric,
At that throttle position it sure sounds like the pilot jets are gummed up, and they are small.
BG products are good for sure but if you can't locate some try Chevron Techron, it's available 'bout anywhere.
