No one used this, or is there another gear calculator that anyone has used?
I am wanting to get my gearing right, so I can forget it......., been running 16/48, and have turned 126 in the 1/8 with this combo, ran at RRR at the king of the track, and had room to spare, so I am thinking 16/49.................
680 lb package,
with nice air, like 70s or 60s, bike will run 8s with a low 1.4 short time........., it has done 5.8s street legal, but I think there is more, even with the soft launches...............
I know the gearing has been beat to death, but anyone running like 122mph , like this month........., with about a 680lb total package that may be able to help a brother out............., I sold all my sprockets, and dont want to buy what I dont need. All i have now is my 54 and 56 Pro et sprockets I ran with the slick..............
I know with the slick that 16/56 put me at the top of 6th with a few hun rpm left.............
and 16/52 with the slick was top of 5th................., I have only been running the street tire for about a year..........., and dont get to hit the quarter much...........
I am thinkin I should be shifting 6th right around 1000 ft? top of 4th in the 1/8?
I am running a event at a 1000 ft track this weekend..............., would like to have some knowledge..................

NOX,
I was running 17/53 and ran out of rpm's at about 1000' with nitrous. Without nitrous, I would have probably had plenty of rpm's. The 16/52 will probably be close.

You talkin about 5th at 1000ft, with the 17/53?
I am hoping the 16/49 will put me just about right...........
Thanks buddy, hope you get yours together soon.........

Nope, I ran out of rpm in 6th at 1000'. I hit the limiter in 6th and backed off. Maybe a bit past 1000' but not too much. That was with an 80 shot of nitrous, tho. On motor, I was still pulling at the 1/4.

i routinely use one, and it is accurate as long as you get the rear tire circumference accurately measured. There is some growth the the circumference at speed which needs to be estimated to be really accurate.

Karl, which one do you use, the one I posted a link to, shows that 16/48 on my bike should be doing 5th in the quarter, but I am well into 6th with that combo, so I am going up a tooth in the back, and just going to use all 6, and try to cross at top of 6th...........

I laid a black mark down the track form 330 to 1000 ft, on a 1000 ft track............., 130 degree track temp........., Track was good, but in that heat..........greasy...., would not shift 5th......, so I took out the map in the pc, slowed by .15 and lost 2 mph, but thats okay..............
Looks like I will be runnin like this for a few weeks...........,
16 / 49 worked good , but will need a night race to really see, it is about half way through 4th at the 1/8, with no map..............

I believe the MCR2 is the best we can get, but still, crap............
They still split........., still made in europe, which is why they cost so much, just like helmets.......
Look at Scorpion USA, some of the nicest helmets on the market, made here on US soil, and retail for under 200. Nicer than any 500 dollar job I have ever had............
I measured my MCR, worn out.........., it was over 77..............., ugh...........
I really think 16/50 may be what I need with a bonneville box............, It really liked the gear change, but I feel I am going to need one more tooth on the back to top out 6th......, but, cant tell right now..............., I may do some testing when I go to RRR the day before the KotT event............
Karl, are you going to make that one?

Someone has to be reading this........., other than zxboy, who has dealt with 5 vs 6 gears.......
I know from when I ran this bike in Pro ET, 16/52 (5 speed), vs 16/56 (6 speed), the 5 speed was slower........, mph really did not change....., top of the given gear in the quarter.........
Either way I could turn 5.8s or better in the 1/8, but......., I could do mid to low 5.7s with the 6 speed set up, and with talking to Craig Treble, he said always go with all 6, as it will be more consistent............
Problem is this........., more gear is more violent on the track......, ie, shifting trouble.........., but, I can always put the zero map in, and wheelies are not a prob, 68 inch wb.
Any input...........? I either gotta go 16/47, or 16/51........., I am in between right now.........
Thanks
