Oversized valves for the ZX-12

What is the maximum size valve that can be put in a zx-12 head? Intake and exhaust

I had 1mm oversized valves put in mine. Not possible to go any larger. I just tore the motor down and noticed the valves were accually shining the pistons a little. Ill have to get a photo for ya. Kevin Blais did my head work and i am very happy with it. I wouldnt let anyone touch my head but him...

Anesthesiac12,
What brand and material are your oversized valves? A friend is building a 1361 and he is looking for some valve info. Thanks
Dan

Im not sure what brand off hand, but there stainless. Titanium valves are nice, except very expensive, with little benefit.. The man to talk to is Kevin at Blais cycle. 1-305-654-8114. They are out of miami, these guys are very sharp, and always willing to b.s. about any questions you may have. Nice thing about them is, they dont try to sell you a product, they inform you what they would do, then are willing to give you a fair deal...
Tell him jesse from ny sent ya.....

ferrea makes the best valves for motorcycles....

anethesiac12, your valves are touching in the pockets because they are/were not properly prepped before installation...it is a simple fix now that you have it apart and i would be sure to check all the valves to make sure none are bent....

Yes i am aware of my little problem, but when we did this, we felt it was going to be ok, but didnt take a little piston rock into consideration. Was a sort of trail and error experament at the time. I did this back when nothing was yet done to the 12
