Team Fat Ass: in the money!
Yep, this TFA charter member finally earned his first drag racing cash ever at the Texas Shootout yesterday. I won 5 rounds but finally cratered in the semis
Everything was going fine during early eliminations when there was plenty of time to "energy-up" between rounds with essential track nutrients: chilicheese-nachos, sausage dogs, jalapeno-burgers and fries . But later rounds were almost back to back so no time to "re-fuel".
After the race the concession stand was closed but luckily Zack (TFA CEO) had beer in his cooler so that Alan, Smitty, and I could regain our strength while re-hashing the days events.
Anyway, the $50 will buy most of the steels which were toasted by the back to back runs, so it seems the day was a GREAT success.
I'm a happy boy today!

Thx folks, it sure was fun. The only downside is not getting to see others run very much. Busakiller's distinctive red& yellow was one i'd hoped to watch but missed it
Ken, I heard about yr misfortune; goddamit, that must have pissed you off.
Angi, have you gotten yr new setup to the track yet?

Bergie, my taxes? bahahahahahahahah, you are too funny
KC, you continue to kick ass. One of these days I have to scoot over to Fla and see the maestro at work! It must have been very satisfying to have yr Dad finally at the track with you. You have been racing for years, yes? It took him a while to get there but seems he finally made it and saw his kid WIN!
I have kids and can relate to what yr Dad must have been feeling. KC: now you be a good son and go buy him some beer or something!!!!
