Aluminum clutch plates?

I know that aluminum plates in your clutch will wear significantly faster; that is supposed to depend on how much slippage it gets; ok I accept that .

Question I have is : has any of you used them ? and more exactly did you shave 1 or 2 tenths off your 1/4 mile at least before they started failing? Id be happy with 15-20 passes....

Lets say for a 180 hp ZX-12 or a comparable streetbike thats been lowered ect... or like my lowered slammed ZX-10R with 6" swingarm?

Thanks for any info guys.

Brock said they are great for 600s, but not for big bikes..............., too much stress...........

I am too scared to use em. I would stray away.

If those plates are worth 1-2 tenths Steve, I'll put one through my intestinal tract. No f'ing way. We're talking about a pretty small difference in rotating weight.

Or do you mean that they will improve your short times somehow?

Hey when did you get a ZX10?

Dean

Sorry Dean.... my ROK membership is revoked this year...lol.

Got tired of waiting on a ZX14 so I bought an 06 Suzuki 1000 instead.

Oh shit, for some reason I thought you started this thread Steve. Silly me.

Damn traitor.

Actually, I rode a Busa for the first time last Saturday at Gainesville. I must say I feel like I met my personal savior. Of course this was not your average Busa, this was Chris Jones' Super Street turbo. Very impressed with how smooth and torquey it felt. Easier to ride than I thought.

Must...resist...bazooki....

Sounds like I would be wasting my money which I don't need to do..I have my ZX-10R geared down plenty; just looking to see what are these aluminum clutch plates worth.

Guy from Hyperplates (a saleman) said Ricky Gadson had bought out all the plates he had for the ZX-10R before I called ; that was helping me bvelieve there must be something worth while about them ...still bit undecided.. no one here has actually tried them.

Brocks comment is noted. Will hold off for now...

Thanks!

I asked about them on Brocks site, and the feedback I got was it would be a bad idea for the 12, it may be okay for the 10, it is lighter, and has less torque........, give Brock a call, he is always willing to help.
