your 60' needs to come down... you are just not hammering it out of the hole hard enough... You should be down in the 1.5#'s... for sure. and that will get you down to the 9.9's... tell us what happens when you 60' it, does the front end ever come up? what RPM are you leaving at?

Whats the stock gearing on the 10???...You should have 20 lbs. in the rear tire and do a good burnout, that tire runs cool...

make sure your dry plates are not dry ; you will need to remove plates to do this as I mentioned to you in the smack zone; I run shinko - best buy for $100.00 sticks very good.
In addition to all mentioned if you run MR9 fuel it should shave at least a tenth from your overall time .
but still ; reducing your 60 ft time gives much better overall time... one tenth quicker 60 ft can yield two tenths in the full 1/4 mile...
You should be able to do 9's but 230 is pushing the ZX-10R as it's torque is not as good as bigger engines.. thats why I recomend gearing down a bunch to get past the factory ultra tall first gear..

I highly recomend going one tooth less (16) in front still ; thats about what gearing pros like Ryan Shnitz run; I do the same and it works best ...you want to improve 60 ft ; also going thru 1/4 mile in just 4 gears is short changing yourself...
Yes use engine oil to soak plates overnight . You can inspect plates while you are at it ; if you have any warped plates or too much damage at this point you are better off just starting with new clutch and plates pack. There may be old posts to research detailing procedure to assist .

The gearing you have is a hair more than going 2 down in the front...You need to have the RPMs at around 9,000 when letting the clutch out and dont let it drop too much lower than that...
15-39 is better because of the small sprocket in front it turns faster, which gets you moving faster, and giving you a lower 60'...

If I were you, I would be happy getting into the 1.5x range.
It just takes time and practice. I remember going when I first started riding and cutting 2.1s. A few months later it was 1.8s, then eventually 1.6s. and on.

I have 15 / 41 and best my so far is about 1.6s but still not many runs done cause clutch got waaaay to grabby due to dry plates (I plea ignorance) and running down the track back to back at test and tune day ( track has less participants) without letting it cool down any between runs... still did a 10.08 on stock exhaust..I learned a bit ;have a full muzzy system and am ready for this comming season but will need new clutch...I was either bogging down or launching with a jump last summer...
I weigh about 200 lbs... reason I recomend going down one more still is to help you overcome your 230 lbs while having the lower grunt of the 1000cc motor...
But yes practice is always a big plus I need some myself still... doing the same as you but with 30 lbs less...ZX-10R clutch not as strong as I would like but can be helped some to make last as I have shared.... here is a link on servicing the clutch; just don't buy Barnett ...OEM has far more positive reviews..

Have fun .. know that you won't get the best times shifting at redline with pump gas ; try shifting around 12,000 or so ;set your shift light where you want it ....may need to experiment a bit..
do some nines now....
