EDBADASS12 got raked

I just got my bike back from MacIntosh's they raked my bike 5 degrees. I decided to go this route instead of the six inch swing arm because I figured I would get better results. If any of you guys that have had a bike raked what kind of improvements did you see? Madmike, now you know why I'm selling my stuff. As soon as I get it all back together I will take pictures and post them.

It added two inches to the wheel base. It cost $350 if you send them the frame and $425 with plastic and gauges removed.

MADMIKE - Yes, the race is still on. I'm going to take my stock ZX12 and pound your stock ZX12 into the pavement. So, how do you like my trash talking? What are your plans for when you come to Edgewater? Are you coming on a Saturday? If you are coming on Saturday, give me a call and we can set up something.

ZX12GIRL - My dreams are to become a super badass. Be prepared for my name to change soon. (Ha,Ha)

By the way Speed Demon is turning red for a while.

Ed,
Not to burst your bubble but if you dont add an arm also you just made your bike more wheelie prone. By moving the frontend forward you moved the center of gravity back. Yes it will lower it but it also shifted weight back towards the rear tire. Just my .02

I have had alot of bikes raked. Should help your et, but probibly not as much as an arm. Put an arm on it this summer and you'll be deadly!!! Post some picks when ya getr er done.

I believe Ed already has a short arm, 3 or 4 incher. Think he chose raking over going longer on the arm.

That may be the silliest thing that I have ever read.

If you move a weight farther from the fulcrum (axis), it takes more effort to lift. The CG will move forward (and down, if this lowers the bike), not back.

My only concern would be: Is there enough trail to maintain stability?

Rocket,
Your not moving the weight (engine) forward, only the front wheel, which moves the engine farthur towards the rear. There was a thread like this on another site recently about 60" bikes. You are better off with an arm over a rake on a short wheelbase bike. With the combo that is being run here (3-4 arm and a rake) it should work fairly well though.
