Removing the Stator

I was wondering if anyone has tried removing the stator and the flywheel off their 12. That would eliminate 4 to 5 pounds off the crank. Any imput?

I have thought about it many times but I have never done it...
I believe there is some kind of Oiling issue that needs to be capped, but other then that I dont see why it would not work?

You can replace the stator cover with a flat cover that the sprint cars use. And you don't cap anything off. You allow the oil in the cover.

You could remove the flywheel and leave the stator for balast (not attached to the crank) . That would take about 2 lbs off the crank!
Nothing to buy or mod, just take it off and button everthing back up. Easy to replace if you want to street ride. Bet you could feel that.
You would have to keep a charger handy .
