Nuther 12 in the 8s...FINALLY...

Finally put the spray on John's 1260...
LONG story short (no time...as usual)...
No where near a perfect run...
1.52 60Ft...tire spun then wheelied a bit...
5.8?? 131MPH 1/8-mile (been 5.70s on motor only before)...
8.84 @ 162MPH...ran 164MPH on an earlier 9.0 run...
A perfect run would have net-ed 8.60s...

The other runs...
Horrible 60Fts...clutch set-up for John's 220+ weight and me WAY out of practice ridding this bike
1.66 60Ft.
5.98 @ 131.77
8.98 @ 163.04

1.64 60Ft.
6.02 @ 130.47
9.02 @ 163.48

The 8.84 run (1.52 60Ft.) was after we softened (big time) the primary springs on the clutch...
Going to make a big gearing change next so it will go through in 5th on spray instead of 6th...

I also ran a new-best on my short wheel based ZRX Turbo the same night.
SLOW 60Fts...LONG PowerWheelies...2nd-through 4th gears...FUN Fun fun!!!
1.62 60Ft
6.20 @ 123.52MPH (been many 6-teens @ 124-125 with less WheelieProne gearing)
9.32 @ 152.87 MPH

We have the 8.84 run on video
I "hope" to have it edited to put on my WebPage next week...
Also have an OnBoard Camera run of a 1,000Ft wheelie on the ZRX

You might want to call Kevin at SM2W: 904 389 1177 for details. I do know it's a dry 80 shot with a progressive controller, about 64". -Dean

MTC-1260 ProLites, Carrillo Rods, Stock Cams, Stainless Valves Head Ported by Ryan at SM2W, HD Valve Springs, HD Studs, RD-Shootout Trans Mods, MTC MultiStage Lock-up Clutch...
200HP when motor was originally built...
192HP with Race-Tire the night of NO2 tunning...
272HP with 80-Dry as Dean Stated above...
This is without altering the map or buttons on/in the PC
Fuel Pressure is rased when SPRAYing...

We will be going to 100+shot "next year"

Does Ryan port heads ofr DBD racing? 200 on motor is kinda high dont you think, unless you have 15.1 cr. I remember that APE used to have some 1252 pistons for a zx12 but I don't see them any more.

Ryan does ALL the porting here...(thank goodness...since I HATE doing it)...he is a natural at it...does very nice work...
We (SM2W) have a "customized" (by SuperFlow) FlowBench that he uses to check his work...MANY options on it to check things that very few people check when doing experimental head work
He is in the proccess of doing a "one of a kind" BusaHead right now...
Seriously...it is...ONE OF A KIND...VERY special...Custom made Cams...as-in the man that made them asked...what the hell are you going to do with these things?!?!?! LOL...
They won't "bolt-in" let alone...run without all of the other Mods that are needed to make them work
We will of coarse be posting the HP #s when the motor is running...
We want very badly to get this motor done but have just had too many other irons in the same fire...(we did just get a lot of Cryo-ed engine parts back though)...

I wasn't expecting 200HP on John's 1260 motor because the compression IS lower than I wanted...
The pistons weren't "made right" but they worked surprisingly well...
This motor has MANY VERY light parts in it...
I forgot to list the SuperCrank above...balancer is out also...
As stated above...the motor made 192HP with a shootout tire the night I tuned the SPRAY...
Oh-Ya...the valves in the head are a bit larger also
ALL the mods have been listed in another thread MONTHS ago...when the motor was first built...(not being smart) many more details listed in the past thread...

I read a post on psychobike.com about the dry nitrous system you guys were building (http://www.psychobike.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?s=17f03623e78c323fac65ecb58a8b77c5;act=ST;f=5;t=18710) . Is this 12 you are talking about setup the same way as far as the nitrous goes.

John's ZX12 still has ONE nozzle in the AirBox...AT THE MOMENT...
The PC buttons and Map however are UNTOUCHED unlike the usual DryShots out there...
We use fuel Pressure for the fuel that is needed ONLY WHEN SPRAYING...
John ran 163MPH a week ago on the bike himself (220Lbs nekid)...130MPH 1/8-mile
VERY easy to do the system on the 00-01 model as long as it has an upgraded Fuel Pump on it already (well...after installing several other parts on the bike)...
When/IF John feels the need for more than the 80shot I have on it now...I will go to 4-nozzles...mainly because it will react quicker (on AND off) than waiting for the NO2 to travel the 12+" to get inside the motor

Newer ZX12 models need another part to make it work...

I am in the process of installing this system on a ZX10 right now...
It made 200HP on Stock Motor with the "old style" DryShot...

And Keith went 8.95 at Mororso on the Busa last weekend...

And even though i am slow i got a 9.04 @ 150 on the Black Busa the day John was there...

We can't say how big yet (it is a grudge motor) but expect to post numbers that will for sure be debated...LOL...
Don't expect for people to believe without seeing but lets suffice to say that we were lucky enough to hook-up with a true "Motor/Head WIZARD" that is helping/teaching Ryan "motor/head/port/cam SCIENCE" that few people know...let alone do...
We are also doing a 1622cc Busa with a TTS Crank
Still deciding if it will have the same cams as the Grudge motor???

Thank's Nuke...
John was very happy with the 163+MPH that he ran...
You are riding your bike well...would like to see higher MPH from that size though???
I am going to do some fine tuning on John's soon...it is still out there with the
"original...lets get it out there tune"...
Dana's bike is here for a SideWinder (that is already on the bike) and I am not happy with the OilPan that he got so I am having Tracy Mod it for me...
Since no-one has beat Dana yet...he isn't ready/needing to "up-grade"...yet
There is ANOTHER ZX10 here for the Direct Port DryShot...

I have heard good things about the system you guys are using from a few people. I also have talked to the guy that is getting the Busa done.

I am trying a map that has been tweaked some and short stacks this Sat at T&T to see if i get any more mph since i am down by about 4mph consistently.

Dana does ride that bike very good. Sidewinder will only make it better.

Tracey is a good guy to work with for sure. Good luck with the projects - hope they allwork out nicely...

Best Pass...

1.49
3.87
5.84
123.8 mph
7.57
9.04
150.9 mph

Shifts to 5th about 1200 foot mark or so it seems. So gearing isn't right but it IS falling off on top. Looking to see if mapping may help Sat...

Actually, that looks a lot like Kevin's best pass on John's 12 a few years ago. All the same incrementals & mph. You're probably not too far off. Nice riding. -Dean
