NO LIP MOTORCYCLE RACE (JAX, FL)
http://www.jaxracing.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=145363&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
Link above is to a local race we are having at Gainesville Raceway in November this year.
This race is for street bikes. Most bikes will fall in 1 of 2 categories.... with the 62" class being the premier. Should be lots of fun. Grudge style.

TD - we need as many people as possible so if you know some other cycle riders that are interested tell them to show. It is a fun deal and not a money deal but it will be cool!

Sounds good. Turbo is organizing so we need to show all the support we can. Plus it is a fun thing and will get to meet some people to race with in the future. I will be there if i am not on the boat (us navy)...

I will be there - not sure if I will shorten to 62" or stretch to 65" - either way I'm in.

Not to hijack turbo's thread, but Nukedog...I just found out that you used to be in my old squadron (HSL-48). I was there from '98-'02. AT2 Abercrombie. You worked in the toolroom with Rabinowitz, right?

So, is the race gonna be during the day, before the Friday TNT, or with it? I'm a little leery of the typically lousy track conditions on these street-only nites...

I'm planning on being there. Testing tomorrow weather permitting.
Steve - is it true that we won't be able to get our own timeslips? Can they cut them in half?

For No Lip? Not sure about that. Unfortunately I wont be there (Ive been praying for rain) so Tracey or Christy would know about time slips. For the event, it wasnt planned on having them.

That sucks Steve, I thought you were the one who pushed to add bikes to this shindig.
Do I need to regsiter, or can I just get a tech card at the track on Friday?

There were only 5 bikes, and 2 didn't want to enter. Krissten on Brian's 12, Kevin on John's 12 (first night with spray, there to test) and myself. Multiple oil-downs. Lots of dew on the track.
The bikes got together with Christine and decided to just run for fun, no entry fee. Krissten lined up with a stretched 12 and got beat by a hair, and I lined up with Kevin and got there first. That was it.
Kevin & I ran once more in the TNT lane (with the boards on this time) and I ran an 8.60 @ 170 to Kevin's mis-shifting 8.98 @ 162. The first 8 for John's 12 - surely more to come.
There were some VERY fast cars there - not sure who won, I left at midnight.

Thanks for the info! Kevin did not run his turbo? 8.6 gotta be a thrill-congrats.
John (JR) and I may try Douglas in a couple weeks. Nice track, even though it is 1/8 but a long drive, but so is Gainesville-drive wise for me and I don't have zippered leathers.
Got my bike back last week and made for a nice 45th b-day present I changed the gears yesterday went down on the back toa 41 stock is a 42 and seeing if this helps with the wheelspin was +2 and +4 the latter was good for the local tire shops
Rode Saturday down to Palatka and back through Keystone with JR, his wife and Dad. must have been a car show going on somewhere. Seen lots of old classics on 100 going Eastbound. Seen a couple cops that appeared to be playing, no lights and side by side for a second till traffic came up.
Another paint scheme..

After I freshen the bottom end I will have something to put in that bracket LOl!
