Kev used to run similar times on a stock motor +6 bike.

I trapped 149.66 MPH on a STOCK WHEELBASE stock motor 12R and backed it up, only mods were Muzzy pipe, 17T front sprocket and strapped. Sept 2000. 5 years ago. Wonder what it would have went 6" over back then?

Rac4it,,,, hahaha you know that a swing arm does NOT increase MPH!!! Only engine mods or less weight can do that.

151MPH in the 1/4 is NOT something that I personally hold as a stock zx12.

i'm not dragracing guru, but i think you're incorrect there ra12r. an extended swing arm will get you out of the hoel faster, and that increase in speed at the beginning should translate right thru to your final speed. any increase in acceleration anywhere in your run (all things else being equal) should result in a faster trap speed. i'm sure the difference in trap will be considerably less significant than the difference in ET and especially 60' of course.

yep, sorry Freek, for the same set up, a quicker ET is OFTEN associated with a slower mph.

But I understand getting 151mph w/a stock motor if a lightweight person was riding it.

Anyone remember Robert Supernaunt (or Supernut)????

Believe his best time on a stock motored ZX12 was 9.teens at 153 back in April 2000. He's 160ish in weight.

These are NOT times backed up by other "good" racers. Go to any drag race event and ask what stock MPH is on a zx12. Try an average of 145 MPH on setup bikes. This is NO different than Ryan talking about his Muzzy SS zx10r in prostar doing 158 MPH and nothing being illegal....?! Just like Chip at the last race, still swearing innocence after getting caught! I say low rent...

You can take ANY of these STOCK zx12's lowered, stretched and gear them and they will NOT run 150mph anything..... "Maybe a women rider, maybe on some zx12's". Shine tested in the Magazine better than any other magazine test and his MPH was not close to 150's. That is a SMALL "professional" proven rider.

MPH is a horsepower test. It does not lie. If the bikes are making the same HP then the color of the bike, year of the bike, or same class rider makes VERY LITTLE difference where MPH is concerned. ET, yes that may be different, but NOT MPH.

I think when you stretch the wheelbase on the bikes it allows you to get the throttle wide open quicker...earlier than you would at a stock wheelbase.I have seen an 02 12 that has never had the valve cover off the motor go 152mph with MR9,Akro pipe, gearing,no PC3!

Ra, think about it. No one is saying that a particular bike and rider can go 151 EVERY pass. In fact he rarely went over 150 on that bike. But on THAT run, the conditions were perfect, there was no headwind, and Kevin was skinny and riding really well. Total weight was under 700lbs, so the bike would need to be making 185ish hp to go 151. Not unbelievable with 'outside the motor' mods. So please give it a rest, I'm sick of the conspiracy theory crap.

All you non believers are killing me!!!

The key to MPH is location of the DragStrip!!!

For example ATCO raceway in Berlin, NJ is right at sea level, back on May 5, 2005 on a cool day I have busted off a 9.251 @ 151.54 and backed it up 15 minutes later with a 9.216 @ 152.04...I did have plenty of witnesses!!!...Just ask Rickey Gadson and the ATCO regulars they were there!!!...My mods are a Akrapovic Stainless full pipe, 16-47 gearing, exactly a 60" wheelbase, super corsa SC2 rear tire, no PC3r, Billet Basket, MR9 fuel, no timing advance, OEM air filters, foot shifting!!!...The motor has never been opened !!!...I weigh 170 + gear...

Maybe some of you southern guys should come up north east and see why we put down good MPH...

I'm not bragging, showing off, or pushing my skill in peoples faces!!!...Just telling you guys to believe what the 12 is capable of!!!...The reason why is because I never gave up on the 12 wanting to see how fast it can really go!!!

By the way there is another guy I look up to, his name is Shane Proctor out of Maryland...He went 9.36 on a stock wheelbase 12 with a muzzy pipe, PC3r, 17-46 gearing, he weighs 135lbs.

You're on crack. I have a slip where I went side by side with Crotch... in shitty humid weather and we're both over 145mph. Not sure about Rick, but I was running BP 93 outta the pump at $2.45/gallon

Is this one of those "If I cant do it...no one can" type arguements?

Ok fine,,,,,,,,, Now that you can go 152 on a STOCK zx12, why haven't we seen 160 MPH zx12's (N/A only) at the tracks?? Some 3mm pistons plus a crank should hit 160 with no problem............Crotch?!

I've seen Norm Jackson put down 159 on his Carpenter motor 12...Thats the MPH I have seen him run, you would have to ask him if he has gone 160 or better on all motor...

Ra, where are you from and whats your name???...Are you a Builder or Jockey or Both???...I posted my name above, You can ask around about me, people know me...I dont claim to be great at anything just a nobody trying to do the best I can and get the most out of my slow ZX12...

I dont know what motors you have seen or built, you talk with experience...Dont know why your such a non believer???

12s are fast with stock motors with a rider that knows how to ride it...
Busas are fast with minor mods, big motors and Turbos, with a rider like Mikey Slowe there is no touching them...

I owe all my skill to the guys that have helped me, Rickey Gadson, Jason Miller and his StreetBike Seminars @ MIR, Norm Jackson, Keith Thompson...Watching and talking to guys like Eddie Krawiek, Mikey Slowe, Shane Proctor, Steve-Jester, Bergie Frazier and most of all Steve and Rob Lombardi of LB Racing for getting me started...

Coby Adams' ZX12 Formula Superbike used to run 167+mph. What is Karl's best trap speed?

Ra; why don't you come to a Gainesville, Valdosta, Jax, or SEMDRA event and race with us? Aren't you in the Southeast?

Have run 146 and change multipl time, and 144 foot shifting.

Dean, I was at Macon during the last semdra race there and watched that rider fall. I have seen you at two different tracks this year. However, I haven't followed you to the trailer and I always run into others that I know that distracts me from meeting you. No big deal. I have met Turboblew in Daytona behind the Red Lobster, I met Justoys at Myrtle Beach this year, that was neat..... I even remember Harry at Deland my first year with the zx12 there...He wasnt' very good...hahahaha

I am not a Ghost here as some have spoken with me on the phone on multiple occassions. However, my combo has given me a bunch of problems to the point that most of my data is flawed. However, as soon as I am comfortable after some successful test, I will seek out a bike built by KCADBY for a builder challenge. N/A vs N/A (with some other conditions).

My point is I am a realist or it cost alot of money in the long run. I don't believe everything I read or hear. Otherwise I would believe that a plane actually hit the pentagon, and that is a straight lie from our president. Red Elk, did you ever find the plane?! So, when I hear stock motor this and stock motor that, then I see 150MPH plus times I become very inquisitive. I, personally, am not in the market for "swamp land".
