Clutch question....
I have just finished my 12 in the past few weeks "thanks to madmikes pivot arm"... Its been a couple of years since i started the project, but found some time to mess with it this year and finally put the engine together, arm on, electronics are done, and paintwork is done.......
I wanted to make it the hte bikeland shootout but ran into many problems with getting the right arm back from Thompson custom cycles........neverthe less... last friday we went up to the track to play around with it....I was a little nervous seeing i havdnt raced in a couple years, or even been on a bike for that matter......so i set it up at 63" with my MT street tire on it.........Holy fun
Having a seriously hard time keeping the clutch together....went through a set of plates in about 3 passes...............im coming out of the hole off the spray, until third gear because i cant get it to hook hard enough....as soon as i hit third on the spray, it blows the clutches away........every gear after has that dreaded slide in effect all the way to the traps..lol.....
I ran 9.04et 1.58 60 ft, 6.37 1/8 168.72 mph..... Its litterally blowing the clutch away when i grab 3rd....... I think this things going to got in the mid 8s when i get it straightened around....
I just need to know a definate from someone makinf lots of power, what is the absolute best clutch set up to use...
Its a 1361, fully ported, polished with 8hp shot of spray at the moment...
Oh and by the way to madmike....i owe you one and havent forgot you....

i would go with a lock up i think Doug from Spencer has a open box on one he'll prob give you a good deal its a muzzy lock up,or get a MTC but i would think all motor you can run in low 9 all day with a 1361 and no NOZ , i think some of the crew here are running like 8.87 @ 167 But the peaple to ask are CR - MM - Bergie - Vince - TB - JC

get a lock up, and run _____ springs in it.........., with ___________arms and weight.......
