First nitrous pulls
Just ran my dad's (Keith) 1270 on the dyno today with a BTC "dry" nitrous kit. The kit is progressive and extends the fuel injector pulse in line with the nitrous pulse to provide enrichment. With a 40 jet it made 243hp and with a 50 jet it made 264hp. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

WHat type of HP is this? Looks like the 1st run was without NOS and the Bike made 203 HP and 109 Torque
So if you bike is making 175 SAE Hp you are making 215 with NOS and 235 with the Big Jet?

It's DIN, the European standard. SAE would be 197, 239 and 260.

Ported head, Bear stacks. It's got cams now too, although it made the same peak power without them it now hangs on to the power longer. They will help get the exhaust gas out while on nitrous runs too. We use super unleaded on the aspirated runs and 118 on the nitrous runs. It's got a Muzzy fuel pump. BTC reckon it would make 300 if we upped the fuel pressure but this is the first time we have used nitrous so we are treading carefully (and it's early in the season, first meet for us this year is in two weeks).
1 SAE hp = 1.014 DIN hp if you want to do your own conversions. The 203 is a little spike at the end of that run as the throttle was shut, it's actually 200 DIN. It has made the same figure on three different dynos.

Excellent! Most people here (including myself) have had no problems in runing a 60 SHot of NOS.
By lowering the compression and using thicker top pistons, I was still able to get 175 HP out of the stock engine and use a 150 Shot safely

Why did the a/f take a dump for the 40 and not the 50 shot..
or is it just a set amount if adds for every shot?

Remember, I stopped work to handle my court case that is set for Trial starting May 16, 2005 (About my Accident that happened 21 July 1997 that caused 7 operations and to walk on crutches for three :oops Years
Yes I am finished up to the point of putting it on a dyno and making sure everything works correctly and is dialed in.
Second part of that is up until yesterday, I had no way to take the bike to the Dyno since Daytona. While in Daytona, I made the mistake of letting my Van know that this was its last trip there so it decided to retire there. going down a hill, it developed a Hissing noise and ran horrible. I checked everything I knew to check and had to drive home (900 miles) with only stopping 7 times. Almost impossible to take off, we had to change drivers using the cruise control. I put an electric fuel pump on it and that was no help (About $40 wasted) then when taking off the Carburator to replace it (Over $300), I saw the problem. The Base Gasket had about 1 inch of material missing ! I replaced the Gasket $4.05 plus tax and the van runs better than ever. (I had to make a little time this Sunday to do this).
So after the trial, I will take it over to the Dyno and post the results

The injector controller in this kit extends the fuel injector pulse by a set amount (variable with a pot). A run was done with the nitrous off to check that the fuel was being added then the nitrous was brought up in two stages (40hp and 50hp) while watching the air/fuel. Obviously if you wanted to run a 40 shot all the time you would weaken off the fuel.

Well, this only works while the nitrous is on, and is progressive when linked to a progressive nitrous contoller.
