Seems like EdBadAss12 was getting 154 and 155 with a 3" arm and a 9.1x run.......
I think the gear was -1T at both ends if I remember correctly. He's tried a few sprockets. (yes, he went down out back.)

Angie...
You would be VERY lucky to run that kind of MPH with a 1361...let alone a 1270...
It would run over 160 with a dry shot added though

He has the 1st stage on the throttle (right end of TBs)...
His 2nd stage IS on the horn button...
I plan on using a timer (activated by throttle switch) for the second stage when I install it on John's bike...you can also use the starter button if you have a switch to switch from starter to NOS...
I also plan on installing a RPM switch with a relay to turn off the NOS before the shift light comes on so the bike will shift right...

Not to challenge you, but If you are fogging the air box
turning off the Nitrous will not affect the engine in time
for the shift, unless you kill it long enough to clear the box then refog the box. I think it would work with direct head shot. I'd like to hear Details about the timer.

I know it will take time to clear the air box...and plan to turn it off "early"...I can only hope that it doesn't take too long to refill the box again when it turns back on (slowing ET too much)
I will try running without the air filters (at the track ONLY) to see if that helps clear the box faster also...
I already have a 4-stage throttle timer from my own race bike that I will use to start with...then decide what HE should buy (probably a plain-jane digital timer)...
I don't know who has the best prices...yet...
Schnitz is higher than the prices that KINGZX12 listed on http://www.zx-12r.org/
I haven't called NOS direct yet...

Kevin,
I know you are the man, but i can't see it clearing that fast. The shift takes a couple hundreth of a second.
Didn't someone say there was a lag on the dry system?
What would happen to the second stage after the shift kill?
Would it stay on or would the timer restart?
I hope i'm wrong.
We need to find out who has the deals on the parts.
ANYONE got any dealer recommendations??????????????????
How much time do you think Kings dry kit will take out?

I was planning on killing the juice EARLY as in...3-5 hundred RPM if that's what it takes to clear...
Only problem is...I remembered King (Wayne) telling me that you CAN'T hit it with both stages at the same time or it WILL lean out (temp sensor can't keep up) so NOW??? I might try only killing the second stage...
I WILL figure it out!!!
King says he has run a best of 8.6s at 167mph (I'm SURE the 172mph was bogis)...
I'll look for prices when John is READY to do it...

Ok, I don't mean to clog up this thread, but where is the problem in keeping stage one (or two) engaged during a shift?
Is killing the ignition for the couple of milliseconds of the shift really that bad when using nitrous??

YOU? clog up a thread???
KingZX12R (Wayne) didn't have the air shifter on the bike at Gville because he said it wasn't working right...
I guess he had some backfiring problems with it also???
It DIDN'T back fire at ALL when I hit the limiter (like a WET system WILL) trust me on this...I was on the limiter a LOT...trying to get used to foot/hand shift the bike with the second stage left on first stage turns off when notching to shift but...obviously doesn't clear from the air box in time...
ANYWAY...since I haven't tried it...YET
I'm not sure what it will take to get the air shifter to work "right"...without BANGING out the exhaust pipe???

I gave up on trying to let off the juice during a shift and just hold the button down the entire time.
Perhaps im just hankerin for a stroker kit soon...but no problems sofar with over 5 bottles run through the engine on the 34 jet.

Nope..no popping at all.
Ive got the PC3 set up 2 full bars at WOT from my custom map.
I even ran it last time on 93 octane without letting off the button to shift.
Footshifting here...havent missed a shift at all since replacing the springs with ones form a 6R

Ok, now I'm interested again.
I've been having footshifting timing problems early this year, trying to get re-acquainted from my 6 month winter slumber.
Missing shifts aside, I've actually been wondering about my springs. I'm still running the 3 stock, and 3 muzzy with about 7500-8000 miles now.
Should I change them? How does changing the springs affect the making/missing of a shift??? YCIS, you made it sound like you had an improvement?? Can you clarify this for me?
Thanks y'all.

I missed quite a few shifts going down the track . I replaced all 6 of the 6R springs and the shifts just feel much "Firmer". I still dont use the clutch to shift when racing...and with the 6R springs you get so much more positive feedback when it goes into gear...and to be quite honest...I cant recall having missed one single shift since switching to all 6. Ill never go back.

Go with the full set of springs from Schnitz. Been using them since they first came out. I replace them every year with a new set to keep them firm as possible. My clutch life improved and i have a very positive clutch feel. If not use ALL 6 stronger springs from the zx6. Increasing the pressure is the whole purpose for a lock-up clutch!!!
