chassis set up

Im having so many problems with the chassis/clutch set up with my 12. Most I believe are shock problems. Without making a post very long will somebody email me and try to help me with the set up? The bike has been 8.89 at 166 and makes over 300hp. Thanks in advance. Chris azx12rush@aol.com

Im to a point if I need to take the bike somewhere, fly someone to me, pay out the a$$ im ready.

2 questions that would probably facilitate better answers.

1. Where are you located
2. What rear shock are you using?

how about posting the times/mph of a typical pass for you.

I am about 220# w/gear; 68", MTC 2 stage, 1427 all motor, with a Penske shock. I'm not leaving as hard as you but my shock sure doesn't bottom out. My stock shock/spring had problems with my TFA even with a 6" arm.

Entropy, who did you get your shock from and who set it up? I should have my works shock back for this weekends PMRA race. I think we found some length problems.

I got it from Orient, they asked about arm length, hp, my weight, then "designed" the spring/shock accordingly. I can't seem to find the specs but I believe my Penske is 1" shorter than stock, has different valving, and a heavier spring. About a grand. I may be "dis-remembering" some of this.

BUT, it's a world of difference.

New best

I had a pretty good weekend. Hats off to Peire? at Works Suspension and their awsome work.

The bike now leaves pretty good compaired to the past. best 60ft was a 1.56 and ran an 8.83 at 166mph. The bike carries the wheel about an inch off the ground to the 60ft clock but then starts to wheelie to where I have to chop the throttle. I think ive found the problem in that area. A little more clutch management should fix the problem.

Im also planning on making some weights to hang off the front of the bike somewhere..Anyone have any ideas?

Once again I have alot of video but all on vhs. I will have to get them sent out to be converted.

I dont think thats really the truth. Its different from bike to bike, rider to rider. But here is one piece of advise...If you have tire spin, or you have to back out of the power during a pass while the bike is moving, the clutch locks up. That seems to be my problem right now is tire spin causing lockup of the clutch. Another thing to keep in mind this clutch is overkill. So far ive got the clutch set at minimum and its still to much. From what ive learned we as 12 owners need very little in the lock-up end of the clutch.
