Aww Dang,,,,,,,,I just saw the message. Anyway, I used a gel cell battery for my second. It fits in the trunk next to my airshifter bottle. However, I have to charge it seperately as it is not in the circuit.

Because it is 12v I charge it just like I charge my car battery. Unless I have alot of time then I set it to trickle charge. So I guess the answer is 15A or 2A at 12v as stated on my autozone battery charger.

well, I usually charge my big battery at 5amps but Sears charger also has a 2 amp setting, and my trickle charger is 1.4amps; those are my choices.
hmmmmmmm...

if you are charging overnight, then 2-5 amps would probably get the job done by the next day. I think 1.4 is for long term connection...

Here is a little formula for figuring out how to charge the batteries properly.
Most batteries will be charged at a 20Hour rate, lets say you have a 12Volt 14amp hour battery which our stock battery is. you want to charge it for 10Hours your charger should be around 1.4amps. so it goes like this AH = Amps x Time. and just to let you know this is a very generic formula, so you can not take a 14AH batter and put 140amps into it and charge it in 6 min.
but just remember if you have a smart charger it is the best way to go. then it senses the current flow and adjustes itself from there.
