They ran a best-ever 7.23 - only a tenth or so off the top numbers. Great job Muzzys!

I was at the race, and Dave Schnitz was telling me that the did some work on the head and made some changes to the exhaust to squeeze out a little bit more horespower. Earlier this season, they were running a 4 into 2. Each ran into a straight pipe. After they did some head work, they went back to the 4 into 1 and threw the megaphone back on. (I'm clueless about the rest of the details.)
I couldn't stop staring at the bodywork. I've seen a lot of bodywork from other pro-stock bikes...especially Craig Treble's when he raced with us in Vegas last year, but I was really impressed by the quality of the bodywork on this bike.
I know diddly about the motors, so I kept staring at the bodywork. Sad, huh?

I didn't think it was possible, but Ry looks even younger in person.

Yeah, they found more power, but they need quite a bit more. The passes I saw had Ry running around 178-180 mph. The front runners were running upwards of 190+ mph. 10 mph = a lot of horsepower. Angelle ended up running 194, and Drew ended up running 196 on the Harley to break the track MPH record.
I really hope Rob Muzzy finds some more horsepower in there somewhere.

Perhaps they should drop the weight for engines based on liquid cooling?
Or at least let em have fuel injection like the twins.

Kawasaki already gets a 20-lb weight break, Red. It's a tough road to hoe for Mr. Muzzy. Everyone else using the old GS and KZ stuff gets to go up to 1500 cc, but 4-valve motors are limited to 1427 (guess) or something like that.

The Kaw's get a weight break of 20lbs and the Harleys are 2600cc's,NHRA is really trying to get them in the winners circle to get more fannies in the seats,I hope they find a good combo for the ZX-12 to get the bike a lil quicker,MPH doesnt win drag races though.

Yes, you're right. MPH does not win drag races, but it is a good indicator of horsepower.

Swft-
No weights on there. The brakes rotors are all carbon and the carbon "fairings" on the rim ensure an inadvertant roll through of the staging beams.
