c-12
I put some c-12 racing gas in the bike today so I'll be ready for street night on Wed.When I got home,I noticed my muffler was grayish white on inside diameter.Usually it's been charcoal colored,is this normal?

well yes and no with c 12 your bike is running leaner causing exhaust to be cleaner but the ? is why c 12 not sure what kinda motor u have but most stock motors will not run that much better with that high of octane at least mine didnt run worth a crap too lean. try some mr9 or mrx01 these are oxygenated fuels they truely make power if thats what u are looking for

Hate to break it to you dude, but C-12 will slow you down, you will lose horsepower with a stock engine using C-12. That is for boost or nitrous applications where prevention of detonation is required. It is high octane.
What you want MR9 or Nutec.
You would be better off running 87 pump gas on a stock engine than C-12. Unless you're spraying 60hp of nitrous on it.
Sorry but you wasted your $$$. It's a learning curve. Now you know.

Well ain't this just nice!Dealer sells it as good for racing normal bikes.I'm stock internally with just a pipe,k&n and PCIII.Good thing I only do this for fun, guess I'll use it up and see what happens.I was just looking to try something different and the Kaw place had it so I could drop it off and it was full by the time I got done paying for it.4 gal./$28

Just to make you feel better, I didn't know either. Of course, I'm still just running pump gas. Now I know not to run C-12 if I ever get around to running race gas.

Like I said, it's a learning curve, now you know. It cost you $28.
Next time get VP MR-9, or if that is not available Nutec Spec5, either will add +7rwhp to your setup no changes needed.
Warning about Nutec, it's corrosive and should not be left in the tank either run it completely out or drain it because it damages rubber lines and o-rings if left in the bike. The VP MR-9 is okay to leave in the bike, and your best option.
These fuels are expensive ~$90/5-gallons, so you have to decide if another 7hp is going to do you any good to make it worth $90 for one-time use.

So, which is better? Nutec or MR-9? If they both give you the same HP boost, then would you say it would be better to go with MR-9 since it's not as corrosive?

Yes, exactly. Plus MR-9 makes slightly more power.

I went last night and my times dropped consistently .15 from 10.58 down to 10.41 with the best time of 10.385.My 60 footers I'm still stuck at 1.79,so I know that didn't effect my times any.I can't say if I lost any horsepower or not,but I can say the gas made a difference.Outside air temps were the same at 75-80 degrees.

You really shouldn't need any higher octane until you raise your compression or spray it. Then I would use racegas and not risk your motor trying to save a few bucks, IMHO. Here's some lead tho; http://www.batterystuff.com/fuel/lead_supreme130/lead_supreme130.htm
Maybe your ETs dropped due to practice. You can graph your incrementals and see where you are improving, but I'll guess it's your 330s. If your MPH didn't change, it's you. Air is another big factor in ET variability (humidity, wind, temp), but that changes MPH too, so again, it's prolly you. Your ETs will continue to drop as you gain seat time, and then plateau when you've gotten everything you can out of the bike. That's when the mod frenzy starts, and never stops as far as I can tell.

YCIS is right. (whoops, AND zrxdean)....MPH shows how much HP you are making.
The fact that you ran 15 hund. quicker, and that mph and 60' shows that you had a better 330' time. You were able to get into the throttle quicker and deeper.. (less wheelie's, maybe more clutch slippage on launch)
That's what you should be referencing more anyway, rather than the 60'.
Good to hear you are improving though man!! Keep at it!!
PS. A full tank of gas vs a gallon or so is almost a tenth in itself.

in other words the fuel didn't crap for you, if anything you would have gone even faster without it. remember the difference here; faster and quicker are not the same! faster is faster, as in speed / velocity / mph, quicker is elapsed time only nothing more than time from point a to point b.
Your bike will go solid 9.5s stock engine, stock wheelbase, on pump gas with just a pipe and -1 front sprocket. keep practicing! you dont need to waste money on liquid horsepower.

I kinda overheated it trying to set the fuel pressure and lost a rod bearing. I stupidly had 5W30 Mobil 1 in it, not really appreciating the fact that the turbo was heating the chit out of the oil, and it prolly got too thin. My own fault, live and learn. The crank bearings look great, but the #3 rod bearing was on it's way, and #4 had left the building. The crank is at Falicon for a once over, and I'm replacing the #4 rod.

BTW, the leaded fuel you are running c12 or c16 will leave a white greyish powdery residue on the inside of your pipe. It burns alot cleaner than conventional gas therfore isnt gonna be black with soot. I noticed the same when I had a sidewinder on my busa.
