2 time at the strip
Changed sprokets to 17/48 1st run11.3@135.5 I launched at 5000rpm's and kissed the sky twice in 1st.Tried leaving at 3grand.It felt better but still only 1.9 60 footers, had to let up on the 2nd run because the bike would not shift into 3rd.I was waiting for my 3rd run when a car blew his motor all the way down the track. We waited 45 min.and then it started to rain and we called it a day.You know,it might have been 2 bad runs, but I still had a blast! The guy running next to me had a GSXR1000 turbo and kept red lighting which threw me off a little, but a good experience just the same.I laugh at myself because I can here me saying,I need more power, more power!

I'm sure you've been told this but you shouldn't be looking at the other guys tree. You need to pick a spot on your third yellow bulb, focus ONLY on that tiny spot on your third yellow bulb and ignore all the other lights. When you see that spot light go. You're not supposed to be looking at the lights as they come on and drop down the tree, that translates into anticipation, and will throw you off. You react ONLY on the tiny focus point on a single bulb, everything else is in the background.
Get more aggressive on twisting the throttle as you release the clutch, and move your body weight forward. Check out the videos for examples.
Good luck!

maybe that's why they call you redlight mike
j/k
LOL seriously though if ask the "pros" they will tell you that reducing your concentration down to a single smallest focal point on the 3rd bulb (bracket tree) you will be more consistant.

Thanx for the tips, although it was him taking off on the second yellow that threw me.I did notice I wasn't at wfo on the second run and was told that's common with newbies. He says he launches at idle otherwise ,he'll wheelie, anyone else do that?
