valve spring pressure: anyone actually measuring it?
Since i'm waiting on pistons, i'm educating myself on related stuff. Like valve spring pressure.
Googled lots o' basic info, but am wondering if any of you high-tech folks are in the practice of actually measuring seat pressure, distance to coil bind, max lift spring pressure, etc.
Metric MC (Andy) just completed a 5/3 angle valve job and port/polish clean up on the head, but I didn't think to ask him about spring pressures and now the head is assembled. Any tips on measuring spring info when head is assembled??
Anyone? anyone? Bueller???

There is a cool tool that measures it. Saw one at Kevin's shop.

i like "cool tools" but have been waiting a mo for my Tavia clutch spring gauge...
Google offered up a method of using a bathrooms scale (chek!), a dial indicator (chek!), and a drill press (chek!) to measure valve spring pressure and distance to coil bind. I have all the required "tools", so I'll try it today or tomorrow, but I'd like to hear some folks tips.
