Thank you dean-Sir...
NOT gonna start (I sure as hell didn't reply/TRY to start) another pissing match with ra...
I came here trying to help the man...
I don't think Carrillos are a waste of money...PERIOD...
Heads (especialy if/when not stock)...and cases are very expensive to replace if they get "taken out" because of a broken rod...I look at Carrillos as relatively cheap insurance...JMHO...

I don't enjoy (I HATE) pissing matches when all I am trying to do is post my feelings/THOUGHTS...

entropy...if I hear of anyone/anything more about your problem...I'll let you know...
Otherwise...I'm off this thread...

WHOA!!!!

I leave my PC for an afternoon and all kind o' stuff happens.

KC -
please stay tuned, you have been a source of VERY useful info for me for 3+ yrs.

MM, ken, ra, Dean, tn, ARH, YCIS, TB, 01,
ALL of you guys have shared info which has helped me, and I appreciate the hell out of yr continued info.

JohnnyCheese knows MUCHO about motors, and we can even excuse him being basically a Busa-guy, but he has never seen this repeated ovalization.

He has talked to Doug Meyer, Rob Muzzy, Tony Lange (MTC), and John Noonan (JE), none of em said: "oh ya, we had that problem on the ying-yang bike a couple years back, and cured it by taking 10 thou off the foo-foo then balancing the fa-fa, nitriding the wing-wang, and applying a mix of KY & STP during assembly".

tn1361 is the 1st one to come fwd with apparently the same problem, but in his case, with non-offset block.

I was hoping someone would say Carrillos are easy to install and they might fix the ovalizing.

On next Tuesday I will be in Socal and have arranged with John Noonan to get a tour of JE. That'll be a good opportunity to swab John for add'l info. BTW he has one of my ovalized 87 mm MTC pistons and is making up a custom set of JE's for me.

Also, I have a set of MTC's on order from Muzzy; 87mm's are out of stock and apparently waiting for MTC's new, slightly improved? version.

Whichever set of pistons arrives 1st goes into the bike.

to be continued...

You KNOW I'll be here...This is VERY interesting to me...
I've never seen it before...I tell if I had...
Gary's 1361 has been out there for quite a while now with no problems (that he/we know of)...
I just won't come here to spit on anyone

Have you heard of this problem from the SBM 1320 kit. Close to the same bore but with no off set, right?

ZRXDean, okay you are correct, my initial post failed to mention a earlier conversation with Entropy about his new problem, so when i noticed what he was thinking about to "fix" the issue, I posted for "HIS" edification. Rods are not Entropy's problem! So yes, Carrillos would be a waste of money. Anyone else care to advise him that the Carrillos would be a good investment to stop wrist pin ovalization go right aredhead.

I never said that. After the edit of the problem which entropy was speaking of, I never said rods would fix the problem. Why do you come back here to argue he said she said? You've got a 700 lb tungsten chip on your shoulder, and someones gonna knock that fucker off with a sledge one day.....

Yawnnnn..... If the shoe doesn't fit then don't wear it. Where is the chip in the below post?!?!

quote:
Kcadby, ARH....... the waste of money part is in relation to Carrillos fixing Entropy's actualy problem. My post was directed at his "question" not your "feelings" about whether Carrillo is a good product or less weight/stronger rod are better. Both of you should take a reading comprehension class as this is a "consistent problem"......DANG!!!!

I personally have Carrillos in my motor. Did I notice improvement...........?!?! Honestly I don't know, I just know that they made for alot of work and were VERY expensive. Should Entropy just buy a set just because they are stronger, I don't "think" so. Based on JCHeese stating that this is not the first time, I am begining to feel that there is an engineering issue here that has nothing to do with the rider or builder..............

However, ARH, I have every intention to find you and race at Memphis Prostar!!! So for every pound of chips you feel I have bring a $1.....then i can carry the weight of your money in my wallet. The terms of the race is the same as Labusas......MOTOR vs MOTOR on a Street bike!

Your advertised number on the boards for your shop is your cell and your voicemail is unattainable without your phone?

Ive sent you quite a few PMs actually...I only resort to calling after they go unanswered.

I sent you two separate pms last week...you mentioned you were going to get me that tracking number....so you asking me what I want you to do for me is somewhat frustrating.

interesting, especially in that most ALL voice mail is reachable over a regular phone line. (usually just hit # and enter a password when VM answers to reach the messages......)
