How fast will you go this year?

How fast do you expect or hope to run this year? I expect to go 8.80's on motor and if I decide to put nitros on my bike I hope to go 8.60's. I might be a little optimistic with 8.80's but I like to set goals that will not come easily. I know I will go 8.90's with a 6 inch swingarm. Last year I ran a 9.11 with a 3 inch swingarm. Let me know, what your expectations or hopes are this year.

E.T. Goal

I'm with Mike on this one. Previous best 9.59 @ 149.66 with 167 RWHP (stock motor and wheelbase). 2002 goal 8.99 @ 152 with the 1361 and 6" over arm. I also have a goal of 200.00 MPH for the East Coast Timing Association "Maxton-Mile" event.

hehehehe

My goal is to get a 9.2x, still with the stock wheelbase, tire, and motor, and then to DO SOME STREETRACING and hopefully get some of my darn money back!!!!!

If I do anything major, it'll just be NOS and hope for an 8.9x

stretch goals are good!

In Dec, Y2001 gave me 9.18 @ 151.50 thanks to the 1361 and 6" arm. I've only had a dozen passes out of the combo so far, so there is surely more to be had with practice. Question is: how low can she go?

My Y2002 target is 8.999999999999999, prob at 152-3. In order to achieve this it seems my 60's will have to drop to 1.5flat, 330's into 3.8's.

At a recent Team Fat Ass Y2002 strategy meeting, held at Hooters over mountains of wings and rivers of beer, it was decided to use Nutec rather than go on a diet.

In case I really hit a wall, I still have my 2 secret green power pills waiting to be dropped into the tank.

Hmmmmmmm.... let the games begin!

LOL!!! Well...I'm not gonna go as fast as you guy's!!!

I am Going to get 9.5's on the hubby's Hayabusa....Stock wheelbase / Stock motor / Street tire!!!! I am already at 9.71 with not much effort!!!!

Then -
I am going to go at least but not limited to 9.6's on my ZX12R- Slower only because its a wheelie monster(I am working on that) - Stock wheelbase / Stock motor / Street tire!!!!

Then - If I get lucky and I can get the mods that I want......I'll be in the 8 sec. club!!!!

I'm on a mission to drop 20 lbs(rider) + 10 lbs(bike)by spring....Look-out!!!!

ETs

I am looking to go consistant 9.30s@151-152 and MAYBE hit a 9.28 or so sometime on a good air, tail wind, sticky track and down a hill day. Best so far is a 9.42@151.05 with a 1.63 60'. Runs pretty consistant 9.45-.50s@149.8-151mph now with only 1.63-1.66 60's. Although, one time I hit a 1.59 60' on my last pass of the year. I think I will get it consistant 1.59-1.60s this year on a street tire, stock wheelbase busa.

Hot Rod, whats your mph, 60', 330' are you getting? High 9.40s is damn good for 730lbs and a stock motor. If you spill your mph numbers I can determine how close you will get to 9.30s. It all depends on the 60', and 330'.

A while back, a friend of mine got his stock length, tired, motor(usual bolt ons) to go 9.48 at 149. He's since got it down to 9.40 at 150. I'll bet both of ya can get in the 30's with some good air. Track opens next month!

Karl, if this thing runs, I'll be happy. Secret part arrived today. Gettin closer!

when it's finished

8.35-40's@168-71,270+hp with spray should get that mph if I am at 170lbs(I will lean down for spring),the 60'will have to be 1.40-45,hopefully better,it can happen with the 8'nch mac arm,lock-up,hyper-pro rear, and some serious rubber, also we are finding some new ways to shave some weight from the bike(of course I will post it if it's signifigant enough),different bearings for the wheel, the motor is "definately"big enough to make the power, only needing around 55hp of nitrous to hit the number, big question is...will it be reliable enough...when it's done,I will post all pics and info,oh yeah,I need to learn how to ride it,I haven't had rode the 12 since july-maybe I am too optomistic, maybe not....I have seen 12's go 8.40's with half of the mods we are doing to mine-it's going to be an interesting spring!

ZXALAN,we are hoping for 215-220 when we are finished having it tuned, just bolting everything on means around 205hp,I got with someone a week ago and for some $$ and a trade, well, let me say that the motor's gonna be a little bigger then before,I just don't think we can spray the 1270 hard enough without blowing it again,I still have to get w/PJ to work out a few more details(particularly on the swap),with a smaller shot of dope,we will not need a progressive(saving money),and it's still direct-port,I have to get w/DB to set up the hyperpro and chain the mac arm to the best lenght(it's got to be short enough to run Q8),suspension is the key, even if I run on motor,it should go high mid 8's with it set up right,Nick's busa(not red head)is long,it's low,and it's gonna be ready, both bikes will be ready to got to work this year, red should be building a busa soon too,are you gonna leave yours short??Also,I am probably going to buy a busa,I am gonna leave it short, just put a shock on it-alan,put one on yours, that purple really makes a difference.

Joey, the key is definetly in the setup. A shock will work wonders but for my low HP it is not needed. I had my suspension setup awesome on my last trip to the strip. I was leaving at 2500, WOT 10-15' out of the gate, No wheelies, no spinning on a 80%worn BT010 with 34psi. 1.59 60' on my last pass of the night and of the season. I am optimistic that with a fresh clutch, tire and some practice I will be consistant high 1.50s on the 60' and should go 9.30s@151 with the head never being off and the stock arm. I am not putting an ext arm on it. I like riding it short, good for curves and decent on the strip. Makes a great everyday bike.

Remember with your extended arm it will put more leverage against the shock making the shock feel softer.

how fast?

My lil' 750 turbo is taking a rest this year, and getting a proper chassis to take it into the 7s next year (2003). In the meantime I'll be riding pop's ZX12 into the 8s (and gettin him on it in the 9s) with the biggest hit of nitrous we can get our hands on.
