spun a bearing!!!!
sprocket carrier bearing that is
OK JohnnyCheese, time to take yr heart medicine
1st pass of the night and got a pretty good 330' (3.856) but ET/mph was way off (8.973/151.05).
Put the bike on a stand and spun the wheel; spin-crunch-spin-crunch. Trashed the ceramic in the sprocket carrier but no apparent damage otherwise.
Prolly 250+ passes on that bearing, and I run my chain pretty tight, so I figure I got my money's worth out of it.

OK, wanna hear about 110% customer support?
I called Save Conforti at World Wide Bearings and told him what happened and he didn't hesitate one second: "really sorry, Karl, that's the first of those bearings we've had fail, you'll have a free replacement tomorrow"!!!!
I was speechless as I had a song & dance ready to convince him to at least give me a discount on a replacement.
Dave, you ARE the man!!!!

CR, I am sold on the ceramics, and feel that my problem was a one-off failure, no big deal.
But i was premature when I said no other damage. The sprocket carrier is mushed where it hit the arm and the arm is a little scored. New sprocket carrier should fix me up. really glad I didn't make another pass...

I think they run about $300-$350 Brian. I do recall there are 5 bearings. 2 front, 3 rear, with the extra being the carrier I believe.
Entropy, I had a bearing failure there too, but it was for the lack of that fookin' spacer pos. I have the same scoring on my swingarm so it became a spare that will get extended.
caused a nasty tank-slapper though.......almost lost it.
