Undertails for drag racing ?

My bike is lowered 1" up front, and 2" out back. I've srubbed the underside on launches before. I'm getting another inch down out back. What can I do ? Will a normal aftermarket undertail work, or will I have to fabricate one ?

Fab one.
I noticed my CF hugger was chewed up pretty good from tire growth at the track.

For $110 the Tiger Tail is an overpriced piece of shit.
Ask me how I know.

I dont see whats so good about it. WOrkmanship is pathetic. It does not take into account that someone may actually NEED space for bottles in the tail section. And for the bike to ever get that low for the wheel to hit the undertail... you would need a cut oil pan and a shorter shock.

OK, now who is right? TB or MM? Mike, do you have any bottles in your tail section? Are you running an air shifter or foot shifting? If you're running the air shifter, does your air bottle still fit in the tail section with the Tiger Tail?

I don't know about TB's setup but I know Mike runs an air shifter with the bottle in the tail.

Yep. enough room for 2 bottle's using the Muzzy bottle holder. I did have to move the ECU and put it under the back of the seat. it is tight but works fine for my application. You have to rember TB street rides alot! and if I even street rode Half of what he does I would not have a TT on my bike.

I have the Tiger Tail. Not been put on yet but when it does go on it has to accomodate the ecu, dyna shift counter, progressive box, Schnitz EFIR box and pc3. My bottle will be positioned on a bracket I made attached to the rear passenger foot peg

I dont know "how low"... but KCadby fabbed up a nice sheetmetal undertail with about the same amount of material for $10. I dont know what Guy Caputo is smoking.. but he better lay off it when it comes to fabbing parts for bikes other than the Hayabusa. His assurance that the then (upcoming) Tigertail was what motivated my purchase.
How someone could delete or obstruct essential components and their brackets is beyond me. Not only is the fit horrible.. but it will scratch your tail section if you're not careful. And there are NO instructions...which only goes to show how much time he invested (NONE!)
And if 1lb bottles will suffice... well then I guess it will work. NO way a 2lb bottle is gonna fit. ECU relocate? On your own. Powercommander, EFIR box, Progressive box, etc.. good luck.
And looking at the piece of shit tail closer... he intended it to be used on the street as there are cutouts for blinkers.

I would have to agree with Mike. I have the Tiger Tail as well. I bought it after I shredded a $200 color matched undertail. I'll take a couple pics with the (2) 1 lb. bottles (NOS and Air and compressor). Got it all in there!

The one I MADE for John's bike WAS cheap but I DO wish it would let the tire go up into the tail a bit more...the tire barely touches on John's best launches as it is now...
It is similar to the TigerTail...
