Muzzy Pro Pipe

I was wondering if any of you guys with big motors (i.e. 1270, 1361, 1375cc )are running this pipe? I was told that you lose some power down low but pick up some power at the top end. Just wanted to hear from someone actually running one if that was the case.

I am building a 1375 motor right now and will be running 100 to 125hp nos at the track. It is pretty much a race only bike so the loss of a little power down low doesn't bother me a lot if there are significant gains to be made up top.

Thanks,
Osti

It is nothing real exotic. I have a NOS brand wet fogger system with a schnitz progressive controller and a schnitz efir ignition retard unit. I also have forged muzzy pistons. I wouldn't want to try that much nos on stock pistons.

I bought a Muzzy Pro Pipe for my 1361. Dynoed the bike right before installing the pipe with their regular pipe. Then installed the Pro Pipe and dynoed again. Gained one horsepower. Lost a little midrange but otherwise, graphs were almost identical.

Muzzy's claims that in order to gain horsepower with this pipe, you have to be willing to spin the motor past the rev limiter because it breaths better. Upon examining the two pipes side by side, the header pipes of the Pro Pipe are larger. Everything else appeared to be identical, even the can.

Don't think that you can see the effect of this pipe on the dyno. We took my bike to Maxton for a mile top speed run. We ran almost 208 mph and we think that part of the gain can be attributed to the Pro Pipe.

Is this the Bike that Dan had? If not, what were you running before?
