Cam chain stretch?

Hey fellow ninja warriors, while checking valve clearances on my 2001 zx12r I noticed that when I line up the cam gear marks to the case that the timing mark on the crank gear is off by 3 or 4 mm's. Is this from chain stretch and is it worth worrying about? My bike is all stock with 50k kms. Any advice is much appreciated! Also it seems the chain is not seating right down on the cam gears. Is this normal? Thank!!!!

Nothing to worry. On my 2 bikes (first to 95k miles and second currently 50k miles) they are not perfectly aligned. If the chain streches first sympton would be noise when the tensioner isn't able to keep it tight.

It was suggested by another member that i move the chain one cog to align everything. Is that what I should do or just leave it alone. I agree that it probably is no big deal as they don't all line up perfectly but I am just a stickler for details.

Yes. Of course you should check if changing it by one tooth makes it perfect, but my point was that I've at least seen that the 2 cams are never perfectly aligned to the marks. If it is off just 3-4 mm then probably one tooth puts it off more.
