Front Brake Problem
I am still having a problem with the amount of "free travel" of the front brake lever. It is as if the pistons in the front caliper are pulling back too much after I release the brake lever.
I put in new pads a while back and that decreased the "free travel" of the lever a great deal. However, as the pads wear and become thinner, the excess "free travel" in the brake lever comes back. One thing I noticed when checking out the calipers is that the outside pad on both calipers does not sit tight in the caliper against the disk after I apply and release the brake lever a few times. The inside pad on both calipers sits tight against the rotor.
I do NOT think this is a rotor issue because this happens when the bike is sitting still in my garage without the front wheel moving. Also, I don't get any vibration when I am riding and use the front brakes.
I have Goodridge kevlar lines, EBC race lite rotors, EBC HH brake pads, Motul Fluid. Also, I have bled the lines several times to remove air. I also tried the Zip tie trick with the lever overnight, but it only temporarily firms the lever up. Any suggestions?

Mark,
I had the same thing. There is at least one fairly long post on the subject, but try checking your caliper piston dust seals, make sure they're not swollen and/or sticking to the pistons. That fixed it for me (oh yeah, a bit of coppergrease around the piston keeps them OK for longer).
If the tie-wrap trick works for a while, I'd bet money on a sticky caliper piston (I've stripped kawa brakes soooo many times for this reason, but then I was riding in UK wintertime, salted roads etc).

Front Brake Problems
I will check on the dust seals and try the copper grease. I had the calipers "rebuilt" a while back and it seems that the problem is worse now than before the rebuild.
