I start today, a full time IT support guy for 3800 Dell laptops & helping out w/another 5000 desktops. As I will be the sole support guy for the laptops specifically, please wish me luck guys! I'll neeed it!
Maybe in a couple months after paying off some bills I can afford some new goodies for the ZX12R...

Thanks for the Kudo's guys! Appreciate it...
I'm working as a "onsite" tech for the local school district which has ~10K machines of mostly Dell, Mac, & a few other brands. This company specializes in small business, been around 18 years(!), & they like it small.
I've worked for various resellers in my time, so I'm still figuring them out- but it seems like a good company so far. As for getting deals on parts I'm sure I can get things at near their cost, but again I just started. I'll know more in a few weeks; after all today was my first day...
Shew I'm bushed. Not used to this full time stuff!

Congrats YCIS!!!
Shew another day & things are looking up. Fixed about 15 laptops between the 15 campuses (8 of them simply "re-imaging" or "user training" issues.) Only a couple were actual hardware problems...(typically HD's, floppys, & one was even run over by a car! LOL)
Installed 4 HP4200 network printers, installed infra-red device on a Deskjet, piece of cake. Today was told they will start training me to get me Dell certified & Tektronix (color printers) certified (Tektronix...ugh!)
So things are looking up for a change. Let'see....1270 or 1325? Or maybe some Waves/Brembo's? Hmmm.....

Oh, & I finally got a set of Muzzys lowering links. Now, do I strap it or just lower the tree? Hmmm...
Also, just found a guy with a used Penske off a GSXR? Apparently the clevis is too short but he says he can get a long one & it will work. Anyone know if this is correct?
Probably valved too light for my fat butt....guy wants $450 for it. Won't budge on the price...?
Deal?

Congrats on the job, the HP and Dell certs are easy, just time consuming. Best of luck to you If anyone is in the West Michigan area looking for similar work (help desk, onsite support, server administration, LAN/WAN implementations, firewall/security administration and implementation. let me know. We are growing and will be hiring for the above soon. I also have internship programs for promising high school and college students.
I often forget there seem to be a lot of techies into bikes and on these boards and I should advertise here when I am looking.
shoot me a IM or an email if interested.
